Artist Statement:

For this piece I first started by filling out a techniques chart where I tried to display some of the techniques used when making art. I then chose one of the designs in the chart to make a full abstract piece of.

For materials I used graphite pencil for all of the lines, colored pencil for the color, marker for the black, and I used water color paper to draw on.

What I started out doing was drawing diagnol lines 1" from each other and then mor from the other side and then change the angle slightly to give me more interestimng shapes. I then went aroun with a black marker and filled in some of the spaces. The last step of my process was to fill in colors using colored pencil. If I were to do this project again, I would have used a fine point pen for the lines so they would stand out more as well as using marker for all of the colors, not just the black, to make them for bold. (And yes, the white space is intentional).
