Time Capsule Drawings

Artist Statement:

For these three sketches, I only speant twenty minutes drawing them and then moved on to the next one. The first sketch I did was a cropped self-portrait then followed by a hand gesture and then finally a still life of an object I depend on.

For every drawing I exclusively used graphite on drawing paper as they were just quick sketches.

For the cropped self-portrait I used a mirror to look at my face while I sketched myself for twenty minutes. For the hand drawing I just held my left hand in a gesture while I sketched it. For the still-life of the object I decided to use my toothbrush as my subject and then sketched it out. I should have gotten further along with the self-portrait and the hand drawings but I just kept on correcting my stray lines and making everything look proportional.
