For this piece I took a picture of myself and gridded it into one inch by one inch squares so that I could focuss on one small portion of it at a time so I could all of the porportions acurate.

For this piece I used 4H-4B graphite drwing pencils as well as verious different erasers and blending stumps on a piece of drawing paper. After I finished filling in all of the squares with graphite, I went back over the drawing with blending stumps to smooth out all of the shading that I did as well as blend all of the still slightly noticable squares together to make it seem more like one piece.

Overall, I am very happy about how this piece turned out and I will definetly come back to this technique if I am making another portrait. One part that I disliked about making this piece was drawing the hair mainly because of how dark it was and how many different shades of color there was. Another part that I disliked about making this piece was how long it took. The longest portion of this drawing to draw was the hair mainly becaue of all of the different directions the strands of hair went. One thing taht I liked about making this piece was how into making it I got. After I finished the hair, I had lots of fun drawing the rest of the face and the features that are on it. If I were to change one thing about this drawing it would be to darken the skin a little bit more because the way it is now makes me look a little like a ghost.
