clay tablet with scratchboard tools.
This is a capture of a sunset at Beach 5 on Frye Island in Sebago lake. Every night at out lake house we go to Beach 5 and watch the sunset and I really liked this picture because it catured the mountains and the sun on the water.
The materials I used for this piece were mainly scratchboard tools but for the sky I used a bigger carving tool to get the big area. I kept the water blank with a couple ripples and the swim float that I always jump off when we are at the beach.
For the process of this drawing I first sketched out my picture and proceeded to do the same but on scrtchboard. Then I put the picture onto the tablet. The tablet ended up breaking and I also didn't really like the shape and size so I switched to a different tablet that was a sqaure and it was smaller. That was my final piece so it was put into the kiln.
