Posca marker, Copic marker
For this piece I wanted to do something different in terms of design. I decided to make more of a scene instead of someone standing or kneeling. I never do a background so for this I did space as you can see. There is the milky way going diagonal from the top right down toward the left and there is the big dipper which is hard to spot in the top left corner.
I just wanted to focus on the design so I used materials I am very comfortable with so I can perfectly execute what I wanted to draw. So I just used Posca markers for most of the drawing and Copic markers for the shirts and places where I cant shade with posca markers.
When I made this I started with a sketch in my sketchbook and I used pencil for that and then went over it with 4B pencil so it would print well. Then I blew up the sketch a little bit and taped of a border on a different piece of paper. I then used a light box to trace my design from my print over to the bordered off section on drawing paper. I took my sketch and taped off my characters and covered my paper in dark blue Posca paint. I then did the little details inside the arms and between the cracks where it was taped off. I did a bunch of small white dots as stars and colored the characters with posca and copic markers. I then took off the tape and I was done.
