Multi Colored Print
For this print I thought it would be cool to take some inspiration from Takashi Murakami's flowers and make a cartoon hand holding a bunch of flowers. I made a unique sleeve to tie into the arm too. I did this by adding smiley faces on the sleeve. For the extended print I added more flowers with the same ink color.
The process of this piece consisted of multiple steps. The first step I made a sketch of the arm holding the flowers. After that I got the linoleum tablet and graohite transfered the sketch over the the linoleum. I made the transfer inverted so when I printed it I would have my original drawing instead of an inverted version. I then carved around the design so the lines of the design would be printed instead of the whole block. When I was finished carving I printed with ink and a roller. I made a few changes after the first couple of prints so I could have no extra lines or things I didn't want in the final print.
For materials I used a carver with different head for the right size on the tablet. There were five different heads for the carver scaling in size with one being the smallest and six being the largest (there wasn't a size four head). I mostly used the size one, three and five.
