For this project, I made a gelatin print and then added extra to the print with a marker. I wanted to not do something I usually do which would be a character or a doodle but something that has to do with nature but I still wanted a cartoon feel to it. I didn't remember to do the actual prompt which was to take inspiration from one of the characters the class drew. But I still did a gelatin print.
For this piece, I used gelatin for the print. I used Crayola markers to make the wave specifically shades of blue and purple. Then after I printed the wave onto paper I used Copic markers to do the details and outlines.
I first sketched out my design in my sketchbook and I used that sketch and inverted it on the gelatin so I could get the print to be the right way. I then did a ghost print and used that one to add the details because the other print was a lot darker and you wouldn't be able to see the details with markers as well. I added a sky with pink which I'm not really happy with how it turned out because of the purple marker outline also I didn't space the clouds very well.
