Pencil, Posca marker, 9x6
My prompt for this piece was to make art out of a splatter of ink on paper. I thought it kind of looked like an arm with a fist that was robotic. So I made a robot out of it. And I made multiple and each one has lighter and less detailed features. I replicated the backdrop of ink three other times for the other robots.
For materials, I used 2H pencils to sketch everything out. Then I used a 4B pencil for the darker final result for all of the robots. On the first robot, I went over all the lines with a black posca marker to make that the most prominent robot, kind of like the leader.
I first started by sketching the robot's body and getting the right shape. This led to the details all over the front and the head. I liked the blocky shape of the robot so I made all his body parts blocky. Then I replicated this three times but with less and less detail each time. I kept the black ink glob black all the way through on every robot. But if you look closely the first robot had three little dots on the shoulder of his arm on the ink glob. Each robot has one small dot every time through.
