Bob Ross

Sunset

Lake

For these two project I had to follow a Bob Ross tutorial and do the painting he does in the video. These look nothing like what he does in the video because I don't have the skill level and materials that he has but nevertheless I tried.

I used acrylic paint, a canvas, paint brushed, a pallet knife, and water which spilled all over me on the first one.

In both paintings I started with water and white paint and painted the whole canvas. But In the first painting we started with the sun which wasn't too bad but it all went down hill when I had to mix colors because I couldn't get the same colors as him and also blending the colors together with a dry brush just smudged the paint. then the worst paet was the pallet knife and the "snow" on the mountains. one, the pallet knife isn't like his so I had to basically have my hand on the canvas with wet paint to get the right angle and then it just doesn't spread life Bob's paint.

The next painting was even worse because the clouds were impossible to make, they just all mixed into a gross blue. then the brown paint smudged for the cabin and the green for the trees just combined with the brown from the house because I can't blend mixed paint. The trees were ok because I had the wide angular brush so I could make good leaves but that's about the only good thing that I did. After all these were fun because I have never even tried a Bob Ross painting before so it was different. But tutorials are just too stressful.
