Club Members Competing in Open Events
If you're thinking of taking part in a competitive event, outside of the club, then you've probably got a lot of questions. It can be a bit of a mystery to figure out how you enter, what type of racing licence you need, what the level of competition will be like, what events are happening when and so on. We'll try and add some basic tips here over time, but there are lots of useful sources to find this stuff out from, particularly the SCU and British Cycling web site (links on the left and below). There are a wide range of abilities taking part in these events, so don't be put off entering because you don't think you're fast enough.

If you do want to have a go in an open event the best thing to do is come and talk to one of the riders from the club who regularly take part. These guys will be happy to explain how it all works and pass on any advice they have. If you're unsure who to talk to just come and ask one of the committee at any of the club events.
