With the schools on holiday this week, Grant Martin took the opportunity to get some practice in at The National School Of Racing at Cadwell Park, Louth, Lincolnshire. A full day of both skills practice and racing with circa 80 other kids from England proved to be very enjoyable. It was bitterly cold and the morning session consisted of slow bunch riding with plenty of "pushing" your way through the bunch. After lunch, the session toughened up with a faster paced chain gang session followed by descending skills and finishing off with a small race. A long way to go for 77Km of training round a race circuit but the experience was invaluable.
Grant getting some great experience at the National Race School
There is a National Race School in Scotland at the race course at East Fortune on the 29th March and for any of the club's youth racers, talk to coach Andy Ralston about whether you can get yourself entered for it. Details are on the BC website. See the link below.
