Welcome to Skye Bike Fest.
Our two evenings, one day community event consists of the following:
Friday 23th August
Pasta Peloton - Carb Loading Pasta Party from 6 to 9pm. Food for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans provided by Alan MacRae, formerly of First Coast Restaurant in Edinburgh www.first-coast.co.uk.
Short Film Selection – A variety of short films looking at cyclists, bikes and cycling culture
Guest and Local speakers talking adventure, books, art, travel and cycling
Saturday 24th August
Skyesportive – organised by Handsonevents www.handsonevents.co.uk, choose from either a 48 or 95 mile loop of the stunning Trotternish penninsula and Skye’s North End. 9 to 9.30 am start.
The Tartan Cycle - 10km family cycle around Portree and Braes. Tartan and tweed attire encouraged. Midday start, Portree Square
Exhibitions – Vintage bicycles, Utilitbicycles toolsforasimplelife.blogspot.co.uk/ and wooden bicycles. Available for examination and trial!
Demonstrations – Scottish intermediate trials champion LEWIS MUNRO; unicyclists and circus skills
Arts and Craft market – local artisans and producers
Entertainment – session music, face painting, bouncy castle, have-a-go’s, food and drink
Saturday evening live music and dance

Blair Douglas – traditional musical legend performing on his home patch www.blairdouglas.co.uk/
Skye Dance Company (local contemporary arts group) and Meena Arts (Bollywood)
Classic ceilidh tunes and dances with Ali-K Ceilidh band
DJ set with Jason Singh from Sampler Culture Clash
Skye Bike Fest will be held at The Fingal Centre (Portree High School) and is organised by local cycling club Cuillin Wheels.
Friday evening free. Saturday evening £10
It’s a celebration of cycling. Bring your bike and be a part of it.
