Scottish National XC MTB Championships

A huge congratulations to Mark McGuire on winning the silver medal at the national cross country championships. This podium finish is the best result so far in a great season for the Youth Team.

The course at Aberfoyle was universally reckoned to be the toughest seen at any UK XC race, and Mark was one of only 2 or 3 riders who were able to ride the whole course. It really was a masterclass in riding cross country. In a delightful twist of fate his father Barry managed to be passing the podium in the Vet's Race just as Mark took his medal - perfect timing.

Lewis Champion placed seventh (first in the 'borrow your dad's heavy steel bike' class). Just getting that lump of metal over the course was very impressive.
