It was a big weekend for Hector Lancaster, Fraser Martin and Grant Martin as they all headed down south to compete in their respective Junior and Youth National Road Races Series at the Redbridge Cycle Centre in London.
Given the length of the journey, the three boys decided to take in an additional race the day before and all three came away with some success.
Following on from The Youth Tour Of Scotland, FCA Series Race 1 and Tour Of The Meldons, Grant went back to closed circuit racing at Curborough, Litchfield and came 2nd, a bike length behind Jack Escritt of WD40 Race Team after a 4 man break away.
Hector and Fraser went down to Hillingdon to take part in the Senior E/1/2/3 Archer GP, a race which had a record 88 entries and has had previous winners such as David Millar and Bradley Wiggans, both boys represented Perth Utd brilliantly both winning primes, the course was that tight and fast that no one really made a breakaway and almost all 88 riders finished as a bunch with Fraser coming in 22nd and Hector 42nd with very little gap in between!
The success in the primes has given Perth Utd CC and the boys a mention in the Velo UK Cycling Magazine with a picture of the boys in action in their PUCC kits.

The following day, all three represented their club again at the National Races, Fraser and Hector were for the first time able to pull on the blue, purple and white colours for Team Scotland, both boys are thrilled. The Hog Hill GP proved just as exciting with very creditable performances from all of them. From again a record entry of 107 entries, Fraser finished in 25th place with Hector hard on his wheel in 27th place.
Grant stayed with the main bunch in the youth race, but with two laps to go, faded on the hill and came in 49th from a field of 110.
A fantastic first experience for the boys to compete at such a high level against the top road riders within their respective age groups in Britain.
