South West Scotland Cycling Project Cat 2/3 Road Race 1

Hector Lancaster and Fraser Martin again represented Perth Utd in their first ever open road race and again it turned out to be an eventful outing with the race being cut down to two 25 mile laps of the Clarebrand circuit due to snow and freezing conditions. It's fair to say that the juniors found the riding uncompromising with Hector and a few of the other Scottish Performance Programme riders withdrawing from the race midway through. This left Fraser and three other junior riders to see the race out with Fraser finishing in 21st place from the 43 who crossed the finishing line.

Both boys will be back down to Dumfries next weekend for a 25 mile TT on Saturday and the second race of the series on Sunday, "The South West Amstel Road Race" - good luck to both boys.
