Just when you thought it was time to put your bike away and your feet up for the winter, here is a chance to keep your training going. Club coach Dave Nicol is going to be running a series of indoor turbo training sessions, with an open invitation to members of both Perth United and Perth Tri Club.
Start Date: Thursday the 31st October, then each Thursday until the 19th December.
Location: Bridge of Earn Hall
Time: 6pm for a 6:15 start.
What you need to bring: You need your (clean) bike and turbo trainer and bring a training mat/piece of carpet or similar to put under the turbos to prevent any damage to the hall floor. (Dave will bring a spare couple of cuts of carpet just in case). It is recommended that everyone brings a towel for use whilst training, a water bottle and a post recovery drink and where possible a heart rate monitor.
Classes: The sessions will range from Base Training, Strength work, endurance work , Speed work, Power and V02 max training. It is also recommended that any juniors attending, there bike are set up with the correct gearing for their age.
There may also be the possibility of additional sessions every second Sunday (at Forgandenny) but will depend on what the interest is like with the existing Sunday morning runs also taking place. We'll let you know if this is going to take place.
The sessions are open to members of both clubs, but for insurance purposes you need to be a current paid-up member for this year. If you didn't join this year, but want to take part, please re-join through the club web site (link here). Anyone joining now, at the end of the year, won't be charged a subscription fee for 2014. The sessions will be run on a first come, first served basis so I'd suggest that you drop Dave an e-mail to confirm that you want to attend a session in advance so he can advise if the sessions are over-subscribed. The cost will be £1 per session and is payable to Dave on the night.
