From Paul Hammond of West Lothian Clarion:
West Lothian Clarion are organising the annual Hill Climb race up the legendary Kingscavil Hill just outside of Linlithgow on Sunday 14 October. This is a closed road event, and with spectators cheering the competitors up the hill and a piper playing at the top, it makes for a fairly memorable lung-busting few minutes! The race is suitable for everyone from seasoned hill climbers using it as a warm up for the National Hill Champs the following week, to cyclists who want their first experience of racing uphill against the clock. There will also be a separate kids race with categories A to C racing up the big hill with the adults, and categories D and E racing up the smaller hill opposite. There are prizes for the best-placed adults and kids, as well as spot prizes and plenty of refreshments in the HQ afterwards.
