This was when I learned you could do stuff as a company that you could not get away with for two seconds as an individual. They would contract with an office supply company, not pay their bills for a few months, then just get a new company when the old one cut off their credit. I used to answer the phone when the secretary was out to lunch and would regularly have conversations like this: He divorced mom. Married a woman 27 years younger than him…5 years younger than my only sister. She saw us as competition. She had no kids and didn’t want us in his life. Despite her feelings for us…Dad kept in contact with us in secret (my dad)…I was not allowed at his house and when he was preparing to finally divorce her…it was too late he had a stroke and never could speak or do anything for himself except feed himself again. Because he chose her.
