I would point out the object’s worth and help the shop gain all the money it could. That’s because I don’t buy art to resell, but to enjoy while I, at least, live. Again, if the shop was profit-making and the owner/s had undervalued an object, I’d take advantage of the pricing. It is up to the seller to set value, not the customer. But if I did find something that I bought for, let’s say, $50 and I found out it was worth 1 million dollars and I sold the piece, I would give the seller a finder’s fee. That would only be fair.
