Son of a biscuit eater! Pair these with beef stew!
This is a 20-biscuit recipe - cut in half if you want less.
Ingredients
Preparation
4 C flour
3 T + 1 t baking powder
2 T sugar
1 ½ t salt
½ C soft butter
½ C shortening
2 eggs
1 ½ C buttermilk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix dry ingredients in food processor. Add butter and shortening and process briefly, like for a flour crust. Add remaining ingredients and process until just balling up.
Flour the surface heavily. Knead 20 times. Roll out to ½” thick and cut biscuits. Place on parchment paper and bake at 425 degrees for 6-8 minutes. They should be quite tall and brown.
Alternatively, flash freeze on the pan and place in bags after they are hardened. Bake at 425 for approximately 14-15 minutes, rotating halfway through.
