New Recipe!
What to do with leftover ham?? Not everyone is a fan of ham and beans - here's an alternative that everyone will love!
Ingredients
Preparation
Cook the rice in advance 2+ hours. Stir 2 T sesame oil into it once cooked, mix well, cover, and refrigerate. The rice should be cold when you begin.
In a large wok or electric skillet, saute the onions with 1 T or more of the sesame oil. Add the ham, more sesame oil, and the rice. Add soy sauce to taste, around 1 T or more. The rice will try to stick, so add more oil and soy sauce as needed.
Whisk the eggs in a bowl with the cream, salt and pepper. Hollow out a center area in the pan by pushing the rice to the edges, and scramble the eggs in the center. Once solidified, mix the eggs into the rice and serve. A dash of Worcestershire sauce and more soy sauce is your preference - I personally think Worcestershire give this dish a distinctive flavor.
You can find parboiled rice at most supermarkets. The starch has been boiled off of it (partially boiled), so it's great for stir fry recipes because it's not sticky and gummy.
