The Italian American Connection
The Italian American Connection began in 1910 when
my Grandfather, Joseph, came to America by boat and
arrived in New York as all the other immigrants did at that time.
I remember the phrase DP's (Displaced Persons)
used so many times growing up and I couldn't understand
why these hard working people with their incredible
energies and enthusiasm for life, as well as, their excitement
of living their dreams were called "displaced."
All of my Grandparents came to America the same ambitious way.
