SCENE I: COLA AND UBALDO

Cola says he left Pandolfo, took off his disguise, and gave it to a friend of his. In this moment, Ubaldo sees him without the costume and mistakes him for the brother of the doctor. Ubaldo stops him, asking why he didn't wait. Cola says it was because of a spy and describes Zanni. Ubaldo takes Cola into the house. Amidst this,


SCENE II: CAPITANO AND UBALDO

Capitano talks about Ubaldo's foolishness. In this moment, Ubaldo sees Capitano and tells him that Zanni, his servant, is a spy, and Capitano remains. Amidst this,


SCENE III: COLA AND THE ABOVE-MENTIONED CHARACTERS AND THEN UBALDO

Cola jumps through the window, to ask for his clothes, and they watch from a distance. Meanwhile, Ubaldo sees him and tells them that his brother is inside the house. Cola says he wants to embarrass his brother and Ubaldo shows him where his brother, the doctor, is hiding. Ubaldo stays outside, Capitano and Zanni reveal themselves, and they say that the other man is a clever one who jumps out of windows. Amidst this,


SCENE IV: COLA IN THE WINDOW AND THE ABOVE-MENTIONED CHARACTERS

Cola reproaches his brother, and they tell him to call his brother to the window. Cola shows his brother's cap and scolds them in two voices. Ubaldo is satisfied, and Cola says his brother is a thief. Ubaldo enters the house, and Cola jumps out of the window, leaves his disguise, and returns inside. Zanni puts on the clothes. Amidst this,


SCENE V: UBALDO AND COLA

Ubaldo and Cola look for the doctor, see Zanni with the clothes, and believe he is the doctor. Zanni jokes around, and then he reveals himself. Ubaldo reaches for his pistol. Amidst this,


FINAL SCENE: VALERIO, OTTAVIO, AND EVERYONE OUTSIDE

They intervene and everything is revealed. Ubaldo calls his daughter, makes her take Valerio's hand, and Pandolfo does the same with Ottavio. A wedding takes place.
