Elves, pirates and zanni collide when Pierrot and Columbine fall in love but can't afford to be married. Harlequin, a rival for Columbine, learns their plan to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and enlists a ship full of pirates to help him steal Columbine away from poor Pierrot.
