Gospel of Luke 3:1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, with Pontius Pilate governor of Judea, and Herod as tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias as tetrarch of Abilene,

Comment:

1. Who was Tiberius Caesar?

Tiberius Caesar was the Emperor of the Roman Empire from 627 – 602 BH (14 – 37 CE, 14 – 37 AD).

The capital of the Roman Empire was in Rome, Italy.

2. Who was Pontius Pilate?

Pontius Pilate was the governor of the Roman province of Judea from 614 – 603 BH (26 – 36 CE, 26 – 36 AD).

Judea today is in Israel and Palestine and included Jerusalem, Al-Quds.

3. Who was Herod the tetrarch of Galilee?

Herod Antipater (Antipas, Herod Antipas, tetrarch meaning ruler of a quarter) ruled Galilee and Perea from 644 – 600 BH (4 BCE – 39 CE, 4 BC – 39 AD).

Galilee was north of Judea.

Galilee today is in northern Israel.

Perea was on the eastern side of the Jordan River.

Before Herod the tetrarch these territories were ruled by Herod I (Herod the Great).

After Herod the tetrarch these territories were ruled by Agrippa I (Agrippa the Great, Herod Agrippa).

4. Who was Philip the tetrarch of Iturea and Trachonitis?

Philip the tetrarch of Iturea and Trachonitis ruled from 644 – 606 BH (4 BCE – 34 CE, 4 BC – 34 AD).

Iturea today is Lebanon and Syria.

Trachonitis today is southern Syria east of the Jordan River.

Before Philip the tetrarch these territories were ruled by Herod I (Herod the Great).

After Philip the tetrarch his territories became the Roman province of Syria.

5. Who was Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene?

Lysanias the tetrarch ruled Abilene (Abila), east of the Sea of Galilee.

6. Who was King Herod (Herod the great, Herod, Herod I).

King Herod ruled Judea from 677 – 644 BH (37 BCE – 4 BCE, 37 BC – 4 BC).

Gospel of Luke 3:2 during the high priesthood of Hananiah and Kayafa, the word of God came upon John the son of Zechariah in the desert.

Gospel of Luke 3:3 And he appeared, in all the areas around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins,

Comment:

1. Who is “he?”

He is Prophet John (John the Baptist, John the Baptiser, John the Baptizer).

2. What is “the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins” mean?

When a human repents for their sins and asks God to forgive them then God is forgiving.

3. God forgives sin in the Torah.

Torah Exodus 34:6 And the (presence of the) LORD (God) passed by before (meaning in front of) him (Prophet Moses), and proclaimed (declared): 'The LORD, the LORD, God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering (meaning patient), and abundant in goodness and truth.

Jewish Hebrew Bible Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake (abandon) their way, and the human (abandon) the iniquity (wickedness of) their (wicked) thoughts; and let the human return to the LORD (God), and He (God) will have compassion for the human, and (so let humans turn) to our God, for He (God) will abundantly pardon (them).

Jewish Hebrew Bible 1 Chronicles 16:34 O (all) give thanks to the LORD (God); for He (God) is good; because His (God’s) mercy endures for ever.

5. God forgives sin in the Quran.

The forty sixth sign of the next prophet that Jesus said would come after Jesus in the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, 16:7 – 16:15.

The prophet after Jesus confirmed that God forgives sin.

Quran 1:1 Koran 1:1 In the name of God, The Most Kind and The Most Merciful.

Quran 2:37 Koran 2:37 Then Adam (the first human) received from his Lord (God) words (of guidance) and his Lord (God) forgave him (Adam, the first human). Truly God is the One who forgives and He (God) is the most merciful.

Quran 24:20 Koran 24:20 And if it had not been for the grace of God and His (God’s) mercy to you (a great punishment would have touched you but you were saved from the punishment) because God is the most kind and the most merciful.

Quran 25:70 Koran 25:70 (There is punishment in the hereafter) unless the human repents (by asking God for forgiveness) and believes (in God) and does righteous work then God shall change their evil deeds to good deeds (meaning then God shall forgive their sins). God is always ready to forgive and (God is) merciful.

Quran 64:14 Koran 64:14 All you who believe, Among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (if they try to move you away from God) so beware of them. If you pardon (what people have done) and overlook (the faults of people), and forgive (people) then God is forgiving and merciful (to you).

The way of God is forgiveness.

The cause of God is forgiveness.

The example of God is forgiveness.

Righteous are those who forgive.

The way of the Quran is forgiveness.

The cause of the Quran is forgiveness.

The example of the Quran is forgiveness.

The good doers are those who forgive.

The way of Prophet Muhammad is forgiveness.

The cause of Prophet Muhammad is forgiveness.

The example of Prophet Muhammad is forgiveness.

The best of creations are those who forgive.

God forgives those who forgive.

God rewards those who forgive.

If you pardon what people have done and overlook the faults of people and forgive people then God is forgiving and merciful to you (Quran 39:53, Quran 42:43, Quran 45:14 and Quran 64:14).

1. God forgives you if you forgive others (Quran 39:53, Quran 42:43, Quran 45:14 and Quran 64:14).

2. Love your neighbour (Quran 42:43).

3. Love your enemy (Quran 41:34 – 41:36, Quran 42:43 and Quran 60:7).

4. Forgive your enemy (Quran 41:34 – 41:36 and Quran 42:43. God will forgive even those who mocked Prophet Muhammad and those who plotted to kill Prophet Muhammad if they repent and ask God for forgiveness in Quran 8:30 – 8:33).

5. Forgive your neighbour (Quran 42:43).

6. Forgive disbelievers (Quran 45:14).

7. Forgive believers (Quran 49:10).

8. Forgive Jews (Quran 5:13).

9. Forgive the killer (Quran 5:45 and Quran 85:10).

10. Exploding bombs in crowds is forbidden by God (Quran 48:25).

11. Fighting today is not in the cause of God (Quran 48:25 comments).

12. If you pardon what people have done and overlook the faults of people and forgive people then God is forgiving and merciful to you (Quran 39:53, Quran 45:14 and Quran 64:14).

Gospel of Luke 3:4 as it is written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "The voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make the paths straight for him.

Gospel of Luke 3:5 Every valley shall be filled up, every mountain and hill laid low. The crooked places shall be made straight, the rough ways smooth.

Gospel of Luke 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'"

Comment:

What does “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” mean?

All humans shall see the salvation of God.

Gospel of Luke 3:7 So John would say to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You spawn of snakes! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Gospel of Luke 3:8 Then produce fruit characteristic of repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

Comment:

1. Explain Gospel of Luke 3:8.

Gospel of Luke 3:8 (If you want to be righteous) then produce fruit characteristic of repentance (that are sincere and genuine). And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father (and therefore that is sufficient to save us in the Hereafter).' For I (Jesus) tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones (meaning that on the Day of Judgement your relations will not be able to help you against the Judgement of God).

(Note 1. Prophet John taught repentance (regret of wrong doing) for the forgiveness by God of sin (wrong doing).

2. The messenger after Jesus confirmed the messenger before Jesus.

The three hundred and forty first sign of the next prophet that Jesus said would come after Jesus in the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, 16:7 – 16:15.

The prophet after Jesus confirmed the prophet before Jesus.

Prophet John revealed to the Jews in his time that they were not safe from punishment just because they claimed to be the sons of Prophet Abraham just as Prophet Muhammad revealed to the Jews of his time in Yathrib, Arabia that they were not safe from punishment just because they claimed to be related to the son of God (the servant of God named Prophet Ezra) and the Christians were not safe from punishment just because they claimed to follow the son of God (the servant of God named Prophet Jesus) and the Muslims were not safe from punishment just because they claimed to follow Prophet Muhammad because only God decrees who shall be safe from the punishment in the hereafter.

Quran 4:123 Koran 4:123 It (entry to Paradise in the hereafter) shall not be based on your (Muslim) desires or on the desires of the people of the Scripture (the Jews and the Christians). (Instead) whoever does wrong shall earn (the punishment for the wrong) and that person shall not find any protector or helper other than God (in the hereafter).

Quran 5:18 Koran 5:18 (As a way of rejecting the need for Prophet Muhammad) The Jews and Christians say (we will be forgiven by God because), “We are sons of God (meaning servants of God) and His (God’s) loved ones.” Say (Prophet Muhammad to them), “Why does He (God) punish you for your sins? No (the truth is that), you are (only) some among all the humans that He (God) created. He (God) forgives whom He (God) wills and punishes whom He (God) wills. God is the owner and controller of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them and to Him (God) everyone shall return (in the hereafter).

Gospel of Luke 3:9 Even now the axe is poised at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."

Comment:

1. What does “every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire” mean?

Every person that does not do what is good and instead does evil will be rejected by God and be thrown into the fire in the Hereafter.

2. God punishes evil in the Jewish Hebrew Bible.

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:9 For evil-doers shall be cut off (from the mercy of God and punished in the Hereafter); but those that wait for the LORD (God), they shall inherit the land (of Paradise).

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:11 But the humble shall inherit the land (of Paradise), and delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:18 The LORD (God) knows (all about) the days (of the lives) of them (people) that are wholehearted (sincere in righteousness); and their inheritance (of Paradise in the hereafter) shall be forever.

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:21 The wicked borrow (from other humans), and do not pay back (to humans what they borrowed); but the righteous deal graciously, and give (back what they owe to other humans).

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:22 For such (righteous people) as are blessed by Him (God), (they) shall inherit the land (of Paradise in the hereafter); and they (the wicked people) that are cursed by Him (God) shall be cut off (from the mercy of God and punished in the hereafter).

Jewish Hebrew Bible Psalm 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land (of paradise), and dwell (live) in there forever.

Jewish Hebrew Bible Proverbs 11:4 Riches do not profit (humans) on the day of wrath (God’s anger towards the wicked on the Day of Judgement); but righteousness delivers (humans) from death (God’s mercy of eternal life in Paradise to the righteous on the Day of Judgement).

Jewish Hebrew Bible Daniel 12:2 And many of them (humans) that sleep (dead) in the dust of the earth shall awake (be resurrected from death back to life), some to everlasting life (in Paradise), and some to reproaches (criticism for how they lived their first life) and everlasting abhorrence (loathing in Hell Fire).

3. God punishes evil in the Gospel.

Gospel of Luke 18:14 I tell you, …. for every one that exalts them self shall be abased (humiliated in Hell); and the person that humbles them self shall be exalted (praised in Paradise).

Gospel of Matthew 25:46 And these (unrighteous) shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous (shall go) into eternal life (in Paradise).

Quran 2:62 Koran 2:62 (In the hereafter) truly those (Muslims) who believed and those who became Jews, Christians and Sabians, whoever believed in God and the Last Day (The Day of Resurrection) and did good deeds, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and they shall not fear or grieve (and this is confirmed in Quran 6:158 for those in the hereafter who “believed” and did good deeds. Quran 5:69 repeats Quran 2:62 meaning stop and think about what God is saying in these verses confirming what is in the Hebrew Bible and the Gospel Injil of the promise of Paradise Jannah from God in the books of God on the Day of Resurrection and Judgement for those who “believed” and did good deeds. The Quran brings the same truth which God brought to the Jewish people in the Hebrew Bible and to the Christian people in the Gospel Injil of Jesus Isa by Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. The Quran is a confirmer of what came before it in the same way as the Gospel Injil is a confirmer of what came before it meaning the Books of God confirm each other as proof God is real and as proof His promise is real as explained in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ3o3ybc-KA showing that without His permission no one can change His words in His Books which are with all humans today and until the Day of Judgement so that you can believe God is real and His promise is real).

Comment 1. Who goes to Paradise Jannah?

Note 1. The Jews who believed in God and did good deeds go to Paradise Jannah.

Note 2. The Christians who believed in God and did good deeds go to Paradise Jannah.

Note 3. The Sabians who believed in God and did good deeds go to Paradise Jannah.

Note 4. The Muslims who believed in God and did good deeds go to Paradise Jannah.

Note 5. Everyone who believed in God and did good deeds goes to Paradise Jannah.

Note 6. This revelation is so important that God has repeated it in Quran 2:62

In Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 the promise of Paradise Jannah is not for those who “believe” but only for those who “believed” meaning who died (past tense) because it is not until the time of death that your true belief or disbelief and your good and evil deeds are judged,

God repeated Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 two times because it is only with Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 that there are no contradictions within the Quran and between the Quran and the Torah Taurat and between the Quran and the Gospel Injil as proof in Quran 4:82 to the Jews in the time of Prophet Muhammad who are promised Paradise Jannah in Quran 3:113-3:115 and to the Christians in the time of Prophet Muhammad who are promised Paradise Jannah in Quran 5:82-5:85 and to the stone idol worshippers 1400 years ago who are not promised Paradise Jannah in Quran 3:85 and to all people today and in the future that the Quran is from God because the Quran contains no contradictions.

If Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 did not exist then it would be proof that the Quran was not from God because without Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 the Quran would contradict its self and contradict the Torah Taurat and contradict the Gospel Injil.

Quran 2:62 and Quran 5:69 is good news for Jews, Christians, Sabians, Muslims and all the people in the world confirming they will all come together again in a life after death.

Quran 3:76, Koran 3:76 (Near to God is) the person who fulfills their promise and stays away (from evil). God loves those who stay away (from evil).

Quran 4:123 Koran 4:123 It (entry to Paradise in the hereafter) shall not be based on your (Muslim) desires or on the desires of the people of the Scripture (the Jews and the Christians). Quran 5:69 Koran 5:69 Those (Muslims) who believed and those who became Jews and Sabians and Christians and whoever believed in God and the Last Day (the Day of Judgement) and did good deeds (in their life), they shall have no fear and they shall not grieve (in the hereafter).

Quran 22:17 Koran 22:17 Those (Muslims) who have believed (in God and all God’s messengers), and those who became Jews, and Sabian and Christians and Zoroastrians (Magians) and the idol worshippers, God shall decide between them on the Day of Resurrection. God is the witness to all things.

Quran 25:70 Koran 25:70 (There is punishment in the hereafter) unless the human repents (by asking God for forgiveness) and believes (in God) and does righteous work then God shall change their evil deeds to good deeds (meaning then God shall forgive their sins). God is always ready to forgive and (God is) merciful.

Quran 45:22 Koran 45:22 And God has truly created the heavens and the earth so that every soul may be repaid by what it earned (in this life). And they shall not be wronged (in God’s judgement of them in the hereafter).

Quran 40:11 Koran 40:11 They (who are in Hell fire Jahannam) shall say, “Our Lord, You (God) gave us death twice (meaning we were lifeless before sexual conception and at death as explained in Quran 2:28),and You (God) gave us life twice (at sexual conception and at resurrection). Now we confess our sins. Is there any way to go out (of Hell fire Jahannam)?

Quran 40:12 Koran 40:12 (It shall be said), "(You are in Hell fire) because when prayer was (conducted) only to God (who is the creator) you disbelieved, but when partners (creations such as stone idols) were associated with Him (God) then you believed (more in what was a creation than in God who is the creator). The decision (about you) is only with God (who is the creator and who is) the highest and the greatest (thing on which the existence of every creation depends).

Quran 45:15 Koran 45:15 So whoever does a good deed it is for their soul, and whoever does an evil deed it is against it (their soul). And to your Lord (God) you shall be returned (and judged for what you did in this life).

Quran 76:11 Koran 76:11 So (in the hereafter) God shall save them (who are the righteous among the humans) from the evil of (the hell fire on) that Day (of Judgement) and give them (the light of) radiance (in their appearance and in their righteous knowledge) and happiness (in Paradise).

Quran 74:38 Koran 74:38 Every soul shall be responsible for their deeds

Quran 74:39 Koran 74:39 Except the companions of the right (the righteous, who shall receive their record of their deeds in their right hand and who shall be admitted to Paradise with their bad deeds forgiven by God).

Quran 92:15 Koran 92:15 None shall enter (Hell) except the most unfortunate (wrongdoers).

Quran 92:16 Koran 92:16 (Such as) those who have rejected (God) and turned away (from God. And so God shall also reject them and turn God’s mercy away from them).

Quran 92:17 Koran 92:17 But the person who is righteous shall avoid it (the punishment in Hell).

Quran 95:8 Koran 95:8 Is God not the best of judges?

Quran 98:7 Koran 98:7 And those who believe and do righteous deeds are the best of creations (because they have obeyed God, their creator).

Quran 98:8 Koran 98:8 Their reward is with their Lord (God) in gardens of eternity under which rivers flow (in Paradise) in which they shall live for ever. God being very pleased with them and they being very pleased with Him (God). That shall be for whoever feared their Lord (God).

Quran 99:6 Koran 99:6 On that Day (of Resurrection) people shall depart (after they have been judged) and separated (into the righteous and the wrong doers) and be shown (to Hell or to Paradise depending on) their deeds (in their first life).

Quran 99:7 Koran 99:7 So whoever did (a) good (deed) that was even equal to less than the weight of a tiny ant shall see (the good result of) it (that small good deed in the hereafter).

Quran 99:8 Koran 99:8 And whoever did (an) evil (deed) that was even equal to less than the weight of a tiny ant shall see (the evil result of) it (that small evil deed in the hereafter).

Quran 100:11 Koran 100:11 And on that Day (of Judgement) their Lord (God) shall be fully aware of every single thing concerning them (and what they did in their first life before they were resurrected into their second life. God knows the difference between what humans say and do in public and what they truly believe).

Quran 101:6 Koran 101:6 Then the person whose scales are heavy (with good deeds that they did during their life on the earth) –

Quran 101:7 Koran 101:7 They shall be in a pleasant life (in Paradise).

Quran 103:2 Koran 103:2 Humans are lost (from the mercy of God) –

Quran 103:3 Koran 103:3 Except those who believe and who do righteous deeds and who encourage each other to the truth and encourage each other to have patience.

Quran 104:1 Koran 104:1 Misfortune is on every slanderer (who insults) and every person who spreads (evil) gossip (about other people).

Quran 104:2 Koran 104:2 (Misfortune is on every person) who gathers wealth and counts it (instead of using it for righteous deeds).

Quran 104:3 Koran 104:3 (They love their wealth so much that it is as if) such a person thinks that their wealth shall make them live forever.

Quran 104:4 Koran 104:4 No (such a person is wrong, it is not wealth that makes you live forever it is good deeds). Such a person (who misuses the wealth that was given to them by God or misuses the mouth that was given to them by God by slandering other people or by spread evil gossip) shall be thrown into the crusher.

(Note 1. Quran 9:34 Koran 9:34 All you who believe. There are many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks who use the wealth of humans falsely (not for God but for themselves such as by accepting bribes paid for making favourable judgements) and hindering (humans) from the way of God (by not correctly following the religion that God gave them). Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of God (such as by using it to help the poor), tell them of a painful punishment (in the Hereafter).

1. Who was Herod the tetrarch of Galilee?

Herod Antipater (Antipas, Herod Antipas, tetrarch meaning ruler of a quarter) ruled Galilee and Perea from 644 – 600 BH (4 BCE – 39 CE, 4 BC – 39 AD).

Galilee was north of Judea.

Galilee today is in northern Israel.

Perea was on the eastern side of the Jordan River.

Before Herod the tetrarch these territories were ruled by Herod I (Herod the Great).

Herodias was the wife of Philip Herod who was the brother of Herod Antipas.

Herod Antipas divorced his wife and married Herodias who had been the wife of his brother Philip Herod.

Quran 97:4 Koran 97:4 On (one night in the month of Ramadan called the Night of Decree) the angels and the Spirit (the Holy Spirit angel Gabriel as revealed in Quran 2:97) come down (to the Earth) by God's permission, on every errand (task, duty that is decreed by God to be done for the following year so that what God has decreed unrolls and reveals itself to the eye of humans over the coming year).

Angel Gabriel in the form of a man came with news for Mary in the Gospel of Luke 1:35 and returned in his true form as “a dove,” a bird, a body with wings, an angel, the Holy Spirit in the form of an angel who stands in the presence of God and delivered the soul of Jesus to the womb of Mary and confirmed in Quran 2:97, Quran 16:102 and Quran 53:4 – 53:5). And a voice from heaven said, "You (Jesus) are My Son (son of God means servant of God in the Torah and Gospel), whom I (God) love; with you (Jesus) I (God) am well pleased."

Quran 21:91 Koran 21:91 And she (the virgin Mary Maryam) who was chaste (meaning, she never had sexual intercourse), We (God through His holy spirit angel Gabriel Jibril) blew (breathed) into her (body) Our (created) spirit (a spirit created by God, a soul created by God) and made her (Mary Maryam) and her son (Prophet Jesus Isa) as a sign (of God) for (all) the worlds (of humans and jinn because she had a son without sexual intercourse).
