Quran 60:0 Koran 60:0 Verse 60:0 Ayah 60:0 Ayat 60:0 Aya 60:0 In the name of Allaah, The Most Kind, The Most Merciful.

Quran 60:1 Koran 60:1 Verse 60:1 Ayah 60:1 Ayat 60:1 Aya 60:1 Verse 60:1 (Makkah was the home city of Prophet Muhammad and the first Muslims. Muslims had been forced to flee from their homes in Mecca Arabia known today as Makkah Saudi Arabia because of persecution by the stone idol worshippers who controlled the city. This verse was revealed after a Muslim named Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah sent a secret letter to inform the stone idol worshippers in Makkah that Prophet Muhammad was preparing a force that would take Makkah). All you who believe, if you came out (of your home in Makkah to flee the persecution in Makkah to the safety of Yathrib later known as Medina Arabia today Madinah Saudi Arabia to) strive in My (Allaah’s) way and seek My (Allaah’s) approval then do not take My (Allaah’s) enemy and your enemy (for allies) by offering them love (in the hope that they can give you something) when they (the stone idol worshippers in Makkah) disbelieve in the truth (that stone idols have no power, a truth) that has come to you (Muslims) and when they have driven out the messenger (Prophet Muhammad from his home in Makkah) and (driven out) you (the Muslims from your homes in Makkah, only) because you believe in Allaah your Lord, Do you (the Muslims in Yathrib Madinah) show love for them (the stone idol worshippers in Mecca Makkah) in secret (by sending them a letter about the military preparations in Yathrib Madinah in the hope that they will give you a favour) when I (Allaah) am aware of what you conceal and what you declare? Whoever among you does that has strayed (away) from the correct path (of behaviour in a time of war preparation). - Continued Quran 6:2

Comment 1. Quran 60:1 is revealed in a time of preparation for war with the stone idol worshippers in Makkah.

1a. What is Awliya? What is Awliyaa?

The meaning of allies in this verse is confidants meaning a person with whom you discuss all your secrets without fear.

The word Awliyaa in this verse means allies.

The word Awliya in this verse means allies.

The Arabic word Awliyaa in this verse means allies.

Comment 2. What happened to Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah in Quran 60:1?

The secret letter sent by Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah did not reach Makkah and was returned to Prophet Muhammad in Yathrib Madinah.

Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah asked Prophet Muhammad for forgiveness.

Prophet Muhammad forgave Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah.

A close companion asked Prophet Muhammad permission to kill Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah.

Prophet Muhammad did not allow anyone to harm Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah.

This shows that even in the time of Prophet Muhammad no one understood Islam better than the Prophet.

Today the same situation exists where some people correctly understand that Islam is forgiveness among humans while others read the words in the Quran but do not understand what Allaah is teaching them.

Allaah is the best example of forgiveness but even in the time of the Prophet there were Muslims who had not understood this because they judged death when the prophet had judged forgiveness.

Prophet Muhammad showed a great ability to care for life and forgive when asked to forgive.

Comment 3. What is the benefit of you forgiving anyone?

Allaah forgives you if you forgive others (Quran 39:53, Quran 42:43, Quran 45:14 and Quran 64:14).

Love your neighbour (Quran 42:43).

Love your enemy (Quran 41:34 – 41:36, Quran 42:43 and Quran 60:7).

Forgive your enemy (Quran 41:34 – 41:36 and Quran 42:43. Allaah will forgive even those who mocked Prophet Muhammad and those who plotted to kill Prophet Muhammad if they repent and ask Allaah for forgiveness in Quran 8:30 – 8:33).

Forgive your neighbour (Quran 42:43).

Forgive disbelievers (Quran 45:14).

Forgive believers (Quran 49:10).

Forgive Jews (Quran 5:13).

Forgive the killer (Quran 5:45 and Quran 85:10).

Exploding bombs in crowds is forbidden by Allaah (Quran 48:25).

Fighting today is not in the cause of Allaah (Quran 48:25 comments).

If you pardon what people have done and overlook the faults of people and forgive people then Allaah is forgiving and merciful to you (Quran 39:53, Quran 42:43, Quran 45:14 and Quran 64:14).

Quran 49:10 Verse 49:10 The believers are brothers. Therefore make peace between your brothers and fear Allaah so that you may obtain mercy (on the Day of Judgement).

Note 1. Forgiveness is counted as a good deed in the sight of Allaah on the Day of Judgement.

Note 2. No one can forgive without love in their heart.

Love in the heart removes hate from the heart and the result is forgiveness.

Comment 4. Those who do not understand that the Quran has verses of history that include history about fighting translate the Quran as if those commands are for me and you to fight today.

No those are not commands for me and you to fight today.

They are commands given by Allaah to Prophet Muhammad addressed to those people who lived in the time of the prophet 1400 years ago.

We need to know that the verses about fighting are connected to issues that occurred in history.

See Quran 9:5 comment in Quran chapter 9.

Quran 60:2 Koran 60:2 Verse 60:2 Ayah 60:2 Ayat 60:2 Aya 60:2 If they (the stone idol worshippers in Makkah) could defeat you then they would be your enemies and they would do and speak evil to you because they desire that you disbelieve (in Allaah and return to worshipping stone idols).

Comment 1. If the stone idol worshippers defeated the Muslims there would have been a great revenge on Muslims for the years of conflict.

The stone idol worshippers were defeated by the Muslims without fighting in Makkah and without the great revenge which was traditional at that time.

Quran 60:3 Koran 60:3 Verse 60:3 Ayah 60:3 Ayat 60:3 Aya 60:3 Your relatives and your children shall be of no benefit to you on the Day of Resurrection when He (Allaah) shall judge you (on your own deeds). Allaah sees what you do.

Quran 60:4 Koran 60:4 Verse 60:4 Ayah 60:4 Ayat 60:4 Aya 60:4 There is a good example for you to follow in Prophet Abraham Ibrahim and those with him, when they told their people, “We separate ourselves from you and all that you (mistakenly) worship (which are a creation) instead of (correctly praying only to) Allaah (who created every creation). We reject (what) you (do). And there is between you and us animosity and dislike forever until you believe only in Allaah.” But that was not (the time) when Prophet Abraham Ibrahim said to his father, “I shall ask forgiveness for you (my father who does not believe in Allaah) but I have not (any power to do) for you anything that is against (the will of) Allaah.” Our Lord (Allaah) in You (Allaah) we have depended and to You (Allaah) we shall return and to You (Allaah) is the destination.

Quran 60:5 Koran 60:5 Verse 60:5 Ayah 60:5 Ayat 60:5 Aya 60:5 (Prophet Abraham Ibrahim said), “Our Lord (Allaah), make us not oppressed by those (of our people who believe in stone idol worship and) who disbelieve (in Allaah) and forgive us (our wrong doings) our Lord (Allaah). Only You (Allaah) are the mighty and the wise.”

Quran 60:6 Koran 60:6 Verse 60:6 Ayah 60:6 Ayat 60:6 Aya 60:6 Verse 60:6 In them (Prophet Abraham Ibrahim and his followers) is a good example to follow for everyone whose trust is in Allaah and the Last Day (of the earth that is followed in the hereafter by the Day of Resurrection and Judgement). And whoever turns away (from Allaah should know that) Allaah has no needs (because Allaah is the creator. Only creations have needs because they depend on the creator for everything and so), He (Allaah) deserves all praise.

Quran 60:7 Koran 60:7 Verse 60:7 Ayah 60:7 Ayat 60:7 Aya 60:7 It may be that Allaah shall put love between you and those with whom you have been enemies (through a peace treaty or with people from the enemy coming to Allaah or with people from the enemy not opposing Allaah). Allaah is mighty, forgiving and merciful.

Comment 1. Allaah can make you love people who were your enemy.

Enemies become friends when there is a peace treaty.

This happened when the peace Treaty of Al-Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH 628 CE 628 AD abolished war between the stone idol worshippers of Makkah and the Muslims of Yathrib Madinah.

Quran 48:1 Verse 48:1 We (Allaah) have given you (Prophet Muhammad) a clear victory (where the peace Treaty of Al-Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH 628 CE 628 AD abolished war for the first time between the stone idol worshippers of the Quraish Quraysh tribe in Makkah Arabia today Saudi Arabia and their allies and the Muslims in Yathrib Madinah Arabia today Saudi Arabia and their allies. Now all humans could meet in safety and after only 2 years the number of people who came to believe in Allaah had doubled).

Quran 4:114 Verse 4:114 There is no good in most of their (the people’s) private conversation except in the person who calls for charity, kindness and peace making between humans, he (the person) who does this (charity, kindness and peace making between humans) and seeks the approval of Allaah, We (Allaah) shall give them a great reward (in Paradise in the Hereafter).

Comment 2. What is the benefit of you forgiving anyone?

Forgiving someone removes hate from your heart.

Forgiving someone puts love in your heart.

When you forgive someone you are introducing them to Allaah and the way of Allaah.

When you forgive someone you are teaching them Islam.

Allaah forgives the person who forgives.

Quran 60:8 Koran 60:8 Verse 60:8 Ayah 60:8 Ayat 60:8 Aya 60:8 Allaah does not forbid you from those (people like Jews, Christians, stone idol worshippers and any person) who do not fight against you because of your religion and did not drive you out from your homes. You should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Allaah loves those who act justly.

Comment 1. Allaah does not forbid you from people like Jews, Christians, stone idol worshippers and any person who do not fight against you because of your religion and did not drive you out from your homes.

Quran 60:9 Koran 60:9 Verse 60:9 Ayah 60:9 Ayat 60:9 Aya 60:9 Allaah forbids you from those (people) who fight against you because of your religion and drive you out from your homes and who support others in driving you out. Whoever turns to them (by showing support for their unjust actions) are wrongdoers.

Quran 60:10 Koran 60:10 Verse 60:10 Ayah 60:10 Ayat 60:10 Aya 60:10 All you who believe (in Allaah), When (believing women who married stone idol worshippers before the time of Islam or when women who were stone idol worshippers claim to be) believing women come to you as refugees (who are fleeing from a husband who worships stone idols, those women are in your right hand meaning in your control), examine (test) them (women for their faith) although it is Allaah who best knows their faith. If you determine that they are believers (in Allaah) then do not send them back to the disbelievers (the stone idol worshippers) because they (the believing women) are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers (the stone idol worshippers) nor are the disbelievers (the stone idol worshippers) lawful (husbands) for them (women who believe in Allaah). But give them (the stone idol worshiping husband) what they (the stone idol worshiping husband) had spent (when he gave his marriage gift, dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh so as to compensate) them (the stone idol worshiping husband by returning his marriage gift Mahr). And there shall be no sin on you to marry them (believing women who have fled from a stone idol worshiping husband) if you have given them (the believing women) their marriage gift (dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh after she has accepted your marriage proposal from her own free will). Do not hold on to disbelieving (stone idol worshiping) women as wives and ask for (the return of) what you spent (in your marriage gift, dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh) to them (the stone idol worshiping wife) and let them (the disbelievers who worship stone idols also) ask back for what they spent (in their marriage gift, dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh for their women who have come to you). That is the Judgement of Allaah. He (Allaah) judges (with justice) between you (the believers and the disbelievers). Allaah knows all and is wise.

Comment 1. Explain the meaning of "all married women are forbidden for you to marry except those married women whom your right hands possess."

Quran 4:24 Verse 4:24 And all married women are forbidden to you (to marry) except those (married women) whom your right hands possess (as decreed by Allaah in Quran 60:10). Allaah has ruled this for you. All others (not on the forbidden marriage list in Quran 4:23 and Quran 4:24) are lawful (to marry) provided you seek (them in honest marriage) with bridal money (dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property and (you do not seek them for doing) shameful behaviour. Those of whom you seek to marry give them their bridal money (dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh) as promised. If after the bridal money is prescribed you both freely agree (to change the bridal money conditions by waiver, decreasing or increasing it) then there is no sin on you. Allaah is all knowing and all wise.

Comment 2. The meaning of Quran 60:10 and Quran 4:24 are confirmed by Quran 17:32.

Quran 17:32 Verse 17:32 And do not come near to (situations that would lead to) unlawful sexual intercourse; certainly it is an immoral and an evil way (of life).

Quran 60:11 Koran 60:11 Verse 60:11 Ayah 60:11 Ayat 60:11 Aya 60:11 And if any of your wives have gone to the disbelievers (the stone idol worshippers in Mecca Makkah) and your turn (in victory over them) comes, then (from the war booty captured from the stone idol worshippers) pay to those (husbands) whose wives have gone away (to the stone idol worshippers) what they (the husband) had spent (in their marriage gift, dowry, mahr, mehr, meher, mahrieh as compensation for the loss of that wife). And fear Allaah in whom you believe.

Comment 1. See 60:10 comments.

Quran 60:12 Koran 60:12 Verse 60:12 Ayah 60:12 Ayat 60:12 Aya 60:12 Prophet Muhammad, When believing women pledge to you that they shall not associate anything (that has been created) with Allaah (the creator) nor shall they steal, nor shall they commit illegal sexual intercourse, nor shall they kill their children (as was the tradition when stone idol worshippers kill their unwanted new born female babies), nor shall they lie about what is between their hands and their feet (meaning the womb and pregnancy by saying the child belongs to their husband if in fact the child was adopted or born from adultery), nor shall they disobey you in what is just, then accept their pledge and ask Allaah to forgive them (of their past sins). Allaah is forgiving and merciful.

Comment 1. What does "between their hands and their feet" mean?

The womb.

Comment 2. See 60:10 comments.

Comment 3. What does “between the backbone and the ribs” mean?

See Quran 86:5 – 86:7 in Quran chapter 86.

Quran 60:13 Koran 60:13 Verse 60:13 Ayah 60:13 Ayat 60:13 Aya 60:13 All you who believe (in Allaah), do not make allies of a people with whom Allaah has become angry. They (some among the Jews in Arabia today Saudi Arabia) are in despair (when they think) of the Hereafter (because most of them think more about the life of the world instead of Allaah and the command to do good and reject evil) like the despair of the disbelievers (the stone idol worshippers in Makkah who reject the resurrection) of those who are in the graves (and who also think more about the life of the world instead of Allaah and the command to do good and reject evil).

Comment 1. Quran 60:7 shows that Quran 60:13 does not apply for all times.

Quran 60:7 Verse 60:7 It may be that Allaah shall put love between you and those with whom you have been enemies (through a peace treaty or with people from the enemy coming to Allaah or with people from the enemy not opposing Allaah). Allaah is mighty, forgiving and merciful.

Comment 2. Allaah will double the reward in the hereafter to Jews and Christians who believed their Book and the Quran.

See Quran 28:54 comments in Quran chapter 28.
