(Information in brackets is added to assist readers in the interpretation of the verse).

Quran 69:0 Koran 69:0 Verse 69:0 Ayah 69:0 Ayat 69:0 Aya 69:0 In the name of Allaah, The Most Kind, The Most Merciful.

Quran 69:1 Koran 69:1 Verse 69:1 Ayah 69:1 Ayat 69:1 Aya 69:1 The inevitable reality.

Quran 69:2 Koran 69:2 Verse 69:2 Ayah 69:2 Ayat 69:2 Aya 69:2 What is the inevitable reality?

Quran 69:3 Koran 69:3 Verse 69:3 Ayah 69:3 Ayat 69:3 Aya 69:3 What can make you know what is the inevitable reality?

Quran 69:4 Koran 69:4 Verse 69:4 Ayah 69:4 Ayat 69:4 Aya 69:4 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the Day of calamity (the end of the earth which is followed by the Day of Resurrection of the dead back to life in the hereafter).

Quran 69:5 Koran 69:5 Verse 69:5 Ayah 69:5 Ayat 69:5 Aya 69:5 So (the tribe of) Thamud were destroyed by a mighty blast (in a great earthquake).

Quran 69:6 Koran 69:6 Verse 69:6 Ayah 69:6 Ayat 69:6 Aya 69:6 And (the tribe of) A’ad were destroyed by a raging wind (storm) -

Quran 69:7 Koran 69:7 Verse 69:7 Ayah 69:7 Ayat 69:7 Aya 69:7 Which He (Allaah) imposed on them (the people of A’ad) continuously for seven long nights and eight long days so that you would have seen people lying down (dead), like (the) hollow trunks of palm-trees (that were blown down by the wind).

Comment 1. The people of A'ad.

See Quran 54:18-54:22

Quran 69:8 Koran 69:8 Verse 69:8 Ayah 69:8 Ayat 69:8 Aya 69:8 Do you see any of their remains? (Where did they all go?).

Quran 69:9 Koran 69:9 Verse 69:9 Ayah 69:9 Ayat 69:9 Aya 69:9 And Pharaoh Firon and those before him and the overturned cities of sin (Where did they all go?)

Comment 1. The people of Sodom.

Quran 11:82 Verse 11:82 So when Our (Allaah’s) commandment came, We (Allaah’s) overthrew (put an end to Sodom) and rained on it stones of hard clay, one on top of the other, –

Quran 11:83 Verse 11:83 Marked (as punishment) from your Lord (Allaah). (The punishment from Allaah) is never far from those who do wrong.

Comment 2. Quran 11:82 and Quran 11:83 is a punishment from Allaah.

Humans cannot say that because Allaah gave a punishment in a story about the past then humans can give that same punishment today because humans are not Allaah and humans do not have the wisdom of Allaah and humans do not know Allaah’s plan and Allaah has not given humans permission to give punishments that only Allaah is allowed to give.

Quran 69:10 Koran 69:10 Verse 69:10 Ayah 69:10 Ayat 69:10 Aya 69:10 They disobeyed the messenger of their Lord (Allaah) so He (Allaah) seized them with a firm grip (of punishment).

Comment 1. The Pharaoh Firon of Egypt rejected the warning to do goodness which was delivered by Prophet Moses Musa.

The people of Sodom located near Israel and Jordan and Palestine rejected the warning to do goodness which was delivered by Prophet Lot Lut.

Quran 69:11 Koran 69:11 Verse 69:11 Ayah 69:11 Ayat 69:11 Aya 69:11 When the waters flooded, We (Allaah) carried you (the people of Prophet Noah Nuh) on the ship (the Ark).

Quran 69:12 Koran 69:12 Verse 69:12 Ayah 69:12 Ayat 69:12 Aya 69:12 So that We (Allaah) might make it (the story of the great flood) a reminder (of Allaah) for you so that those who hear it (that story in future generations might) remember (Allaah).

Quran 69:13 Koran 69:13 Verse 69:13 Ayah 69:13 Ayat 69:13 Aya 69:13 Then when the Horn (the first trumpet) shall be blown with one blast (of sound).

Quran 69:14 Koran 69:14 Verse 69:14 Ayah 69:14 Ayat 69:14 Aya 69:14 And the earth and its mountains are crushed (to dust) in one moment.

Quran 69:15 Koran 69:15 Verse 69:15 Ayah 69:15 Ayat 69:15 Aya 69:15 Then on that day (the Last Day of the earth) shall the event (the inevitable reality) come.

Quran 69:16 Koran 69:16 Verse 69:16 Ayah 69:16 Ayat 69:16 Aya 69:16 And the sky shall split (into pieces in the same way as the Earth and the Moon shall be split into pieces as small as dust) on that frail day (the last Day of this earth when all creation shall be destroyed before you are resurrected on a new earth, a new land, a new ground in the hereafter on the Day of Resurrection and Judgement).

Comment 1. The split Moon.

Quran 54:1 Verse 54:1 (What can I tell you about the hour? Imagine this). The hour (of the Day of Resurrection and Judgement in the hereafter) has come near and the Moon has split (into pieces in the same way as the Earth has split into pieces as small as dust and all creation shall be destroyed and then you shall be resurrected on a new earth, a new land, a new ground in the hereafter where you shall come forward from your grave which is a way of saying you will be resurrected from death back to life in the hereafter with your eyes humbled, like swarming locusts, moving quickly toward the caller and the disbelievers shall say, “This is a difficult day” – see Quran 54:7 – 54:8 and then you will be standing and looking in Quran 39:68 meaning every creation will be resurrected at the same time and they will be standing and looking on a new earth, a new land, a new ground in the hereafter).

Quran 69:17 Koran 69:17 Verse 69:17 Ayah 69:17 Ayat 69:17 Aya 69:17 And the angels shall be on the boundaries (of the creation) and eight (angels) shall support the Throne (of authority) of your Lord (Allaah, by doing all that Allaah shall have directed them to do) on that day (the Last Day of the Earth and of the creation which shall be followed by the Day of Resurrection and Judgement in the hereafter on a new earth, a new land, a new ground).

Quran 69:18 Koran 69:18 Verse 69:18 Ayah 69:18 Ayat 69:18 Aya 69:18 On that day (of Resurrection in the hereafter on a new earth, new land, new ground) you shall be displayed (for judgement) and no secret of yours shall be hidden.

Quran 69:19 Koran 69:19 Verse 69:19 Ayah 69:19 Ayat 69:19 Aya 69:19 Then the person who shall be given their record (of good deeds) in their right hand shall say (happily to those around him or her), “Read my Record (of good deeds).”

Quran 69:20 Koran 69:20 Verse 69:20 Ayah 69:20 Ayat 69:20 Aya 69:20 “I knew that I would (one day) be accountable (for my deeds on the Earth).”

Quran 69:21 Koran 69:21 Verse 69:21 Ayah 69:21 Ayat 69:21 Aya 69:21 And so that person shall be in a pleasant life (in the hereafter) -

Quran 69:22 Koran 69:22 Verse 69:22 Ayah 69:22 Ayat 69:22 Aya 69:22 In an elevated garden (in Paradise Jannah).

Quran 69:23 Koran 69:23 Verse 69:23 Ayah 69:23 Ayat 69:23 Aya 69:23 With hanging fruits that are easy to reach.

Quran 69:24 Koran 69:24 Verse 69:24 Ayah 69:24 Ayat 69:24 Aya 69:24 (It shall be said), “Because of what you did (in good deeds) during your past life, eat and drink with satisfaction (in your achievement).”

Quran 69:25 Koran 69:25 Verse 69:25 Ayah 69:25 Ayat 69:25 Aya 69:25 But the person that shall be given their record (of evil deeds) in their left hand, shall say, "I wish that my record (of evil deeds) had not been given to me.” -

Quran 69:26 Koran 69:26 Verse 69:26 Ayah 69:26 Ayat 69:26 Aya 69:26 “So that I did not know my accountability (for which I had not prepared in my life before I died and was resurrected).”

Quran 69:27 Koran 69:27 Verse 69:27 Ayah 69:27 Ayat 69:27 Aya 69:27 “I wish it (my first death before the resurrection) had been the (complete) end (of my existence and that there was no such thing as resurrection).”

Quran 69:28 Koran 69:28 Verse 69:28 Ayah 69:28 Ayat 69:28 Aya 69:28 “My wealth has not helped me (in the hereafter).”

Quran 69:29 Koran 69:29 Verse 69:29 Ayah 69:29 Ayat 69:29 Aya 69:29 “My power (and authority) has gone away from me (in the hereafter).”

Quran 69:30 Koran 69:30 Verse 69:30 Ayah 69:30 Ayat 69:30 Aya 69:30 (Then an angel shall say), “Take and chain this person.”

Quran 69:31 Koran 69:31 Verse 69:31 Ayah 69:31 Ayat 69:31 Aya 69:31 “And lead them to Hell fire Jahannam.”

Quran 69:32 Koran 69:32 Verse 69:32 Ayah 69:32 Ayat 69:32 Aya 69:32 “And attach this person to a chain seventy cubits (seventy forearms) in length.”

Comment 1. One cubit is the length of the lower arm from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger which is approximately 18 inches.

Quran 69:33 Koran 69:33 Verse 69:33 Ayah 69:33 Ayat 69:33 Aya 69:33 “Before (this day), this person did not believe in Allaah, the great.”

Quran 69:34 Koran 69:34 Verse 69:34 Ayah 69:34 Ayat 69:34 Aya 69:34 “Nor did this person encourage the feeding of the poor (people).”

Quran 69:35 Koran 69:35 Verse 69:35 Ayah 69:35 Ayat 69:35 Aya 69:35 “So this person has no friend here on this Day (of Judgement).”

Quran 69:36 Koran 69:36 Verse 69:36 Ayah 69:36 Ayat 69:36 Aya 69:36 “Nor (shall this person have) any food except filth (that is found in Hell Jahannam).”

Quran 69:37 Koran 69:37 Verse 69:37 Ayah 69:37 Ayat 69:37 Aya 69:37 “Which no one but the wrong doers (in Hell Jahannam) eat.”

Quran 69:38 Koran 69:38 Verse 69:38 Ayah 69:38 Ayat 69:38 Aya 69:38 So I (Allaah) swear by what you see.

Comment 1. See Quran 69:39 comments.

Quran 69:39 Koran 69:39 Verse 69:39 Ayah 69:39 Ayat 69:39 Aya 69:39 And by what you do not see.

Quran 69:40 Koran 69:40 Verse 69:40 Ayah 69:40 Ayat 69:40 Aya 69:40 That this (Quran) is the word of an honourable messenger (Prophet Muhammad).

Comment 1. The honourable Prophet Muhammad.

Quran 68:2 Verse 68:2 By the favour of your Lord (Allaah) you (Prophet Muhammad) are not a mad man (as is said by some of the stone idol worshippers in Makkah).

Quran 68:3 Verse 68:3 And for you (Prophet Muhammad) there is a never ending reward (in the Hereafter).

Quran 68:4 Verse 68:4 And you (Prophet Muhammad) have a high moral character.

Quran 68:5 Verse 68:5 And you (Prophet Muhammad) shall see and they (the people of Mecca Arabia today Makkah Saudi Arabia) shall also see (that what Allaah has revealed is the truth).

Quran 68:6 Verse 68:6 Which of you (people) is (really) mad? (The one who calls people to believe in Allaah or the one who ridicules people who believe in Allaah?).

Comment 2. Why is Quran 69:40 about Prophet Muhammad when both Prophet Muhammad and angel Gabriel Jibril are honourable messengers of Allaah?

In Quran chapter 69 Allaah is answering the claim of the stone idol worshippers that the Quran are the words of a human poet or a human fortune teller by saying they are the words of an honourable human messenger.

Quran 69:38 Verse 69:38 So I (Allaah) swear by what you see.

Quran 69:39 Verse 69:39 And by what you do not see.

Quran 69:40 Verse 69:40 That this (Quran) is the word of an honourable messenger (Prophet Muhammad).

Quran 69:41 Verse 69:41 It (the Quran) is not the word of a poet, so small is your faith (in Allaah when you say Prophet Muhammad is a poet).

Note 1. A prophet and a poet have different purposes.

Quran 69:42 Verse 69:42 Nor (is the Quran) the word of a fortune teller, so little do you think (about Allaah when you say Prophet Muhammad is a fortune teller).

Note 1. A prophet and a fortune teller have different purposes.

Quran 69:43 Verse 69:43 (The Quran is) a revelation from (Allaah) the Lord of the Worlds (of humans and jinn).

Quran 69:44 Verse 69:44 And if he (Prophet Muhammad) were to invent any sayings in Our (Allaah’s) name,

Quran 69:45 Verse 69:45 We (Allaah) would have seized him (Prophet Muhammad) by the right hand -

Quran 69:46 Verse 69:46 And We (Allaah) would have cut off his (Prophet Muhammad’s) Aorta (the artery of his heart to give him an immediate, sudden and unexpected death).

Comment 3. Why is Quran 81:19 about angel Gabriel Jibril when both Prophet Muhammad and angel Gabriel Jibril are honourable messengers of Allaah?

In Quran chapter 81 Allaah is answering the claim of the stone idol worshippers that Prophet Muhammad is possessed by Satan Shaitan.

In Quran chapter 81 Allaah is showing that revelation from Allaah to Prophet Muhammad is through the Holy Spirit angel Gabriel Jibril.

Quran 81:19 Verse 81:19 That this (Quran recited to Prophet Muhammad) is the word of an honourable messenger (angel Gabriel Jibril).

Quran 81:25 Verse 81:25 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the cursed Satan Shaitan (as is claimed by some of the stone idol worshippers in Makkah).

Comment 3. Angels and humans are honourable messengers.

The "honourable messenger" in the Quran is used for Prophet Muhammad in Quran 69:40 and angels in Quran 82:11 like the word honourable is used for both Prophet Moses Musa in Quran 44:17 and for angel Gabriel Jibril in Quran 81:19.

Comment 4. The honourable Quran.

See Quran 56:77

Quran 69:41 Koran 69:41 Verse 69:41 Ayah 69:41 Ayat 69:41 Aya 69:41 It (the Quran) is not the word of a poet, so small is your faith (in Allaah when you say Prophet Muhammad is a poet).

Note 1. A prophet and a poet have different purposes.

Quran 69:42 Koran 69:42 Verse 69:42 Ayah 69:42 Ayat 69:42 Aya 69:42 Nor (is the Quran) the word of a fortune teller, so little do you think (about Allaah when you say Prophet Muhammad is a fortune teller).

Note 1. A prophet and a fortune teller have different purposes.

Quran 69:43 Koran 69:43 Verse 69:43 Ayah 69:43 Ayat 69:43 Aya 69:43 (The Quran is) a revelation from (Allaah) the Lord of the Worlds (of humans and jinn).

Quran 69:44 Koran 69:44 Verse 69:44 Ayah 69:44 Ayat 69:44 Aya 69:44 And if he (Prophet Muhammad) were to invent any sayings in Our (Allaah’s) name,

Quran 69:45 Koran 69:45 Verse 69:45 Ayah 69:45 Ayat 69:45 Aya 69:45 We (Allaah) would have seized him (Prophet Muhammad) by the right hand -

Quran 69:46 Koran 69:46 Verse 69:46 Ayah 69:46 Ayat 69:46 Aya 69:46 And We (Allaah) would have cut off his (Prophet Muhammad’s) Aorta (the artery of his heart to give him an immediate, sudden and unexpected death).

Comment 1. Allaah would have killed Prophet Muhammad if he invented revelations.

It is Allaah and not humans who punish people for falsely claiming to be a prophet.

Quran 69:47 Koran 69:47 Verse 69:47 Ayah 69:47 Ayat 69:47 Aya 69:47 And not one of you could have prevented Us (Allaah) from (punishing) him (Prophet Muhammad).

Quran 69:48 Koran 69:48 Verse 69:48 Ayah 69:48 Ayat 69:48 Aya 69:48 It (the Quran) is a reminder for those who fear Allaah.

Quran 69:49 Koran 69:49 Verse 69:49 Ayah 69:49 Ayat 69:49 Aya 69:49 Even so We (Allaah) know that some among you reject (Allaah’s Quran).

Quran 69:50 Koran 69:50 Verse 69:50 Ayah 69:50 Ayat 69:50 Aya 69:50 And (Allaah knows) that there shall be regret (in the hereafter) for those who disbelieve (the messenger of Allaah).

Quran 69:51 Koran 69:51 Verse 69:51 Ayah 69:51 Ayat 69:51 Aya 69:51 It (the Quran) is the absolute truth (from Allaah).

Quran 69:52 Koran 69:52 Verse 69:52 Ayah 69:52 Ayat 69:52 Aya 69:52 So exalt the name of your Lord (Allaah), the most great.
