Goalkeepers
Shaun Backhouse (Shanny): A loyal servant of the club who has Northern league experience with Washington. A great shot stopper and one of the best and bravestkeepers in the Northern Alliance over the past few seasons.
Stephen Graham: Stephen joins the squad as a more than capable back up keeper after previously playing for the Stan a number of seasons ago. Also club goalkeeping coach.
Dan Rule: Very young but confident keeper who joined this season from Wallsend Boys Club. Looks like a great prospect.
Adrianos Skaros: Adrian joins us after moving to the eare from Cyprus where he played at a high level. Looks a great a ddition for us and will wait for his chance to impress.
Defenders
Mark Davison (Dava): Signed from Whitley Bay. Third season with the club. Shown himself to be strong on the ground, good in the air and a great organiser.
Dean Deagle: Ex- Hull City youth and reserve team player, who made a number of appearances for Ashington. Spent a couple of seasons with Shankhouse in the Northern Alliance and always impressed when playing against us.
Richard Hoggins: Returned last season, at full fitness, after a spell with Walker Central. The club are delighted to welcome back a fully committed player who can operate in a number of positions.
William James (Willsa): The quiet man of the team. A very quick left back in his sixth season with the club. Consistent, comfortable on the ball and loves to get forward.
Gary McGarrigal (Gaz): Fourth season with the club. Signed from junior football from Wallsend Boys Club; a great prospect who is quick, great in the air and very consistent.
Robert Pearson: A new signing, he joins after five sasons with Thornaby. Big, strong, solid in the tackle and great in the air. A true no nonsense defender who can operate in centre half or full back.
Allistair Stoddart: A new signing from Shankhouse in the Northern Alliance. Very quick and comfortable on the ball and a great reader of the game. Has settled in well.
Ben Telford: Fifth season with the club after signing from junior football and has improved each campaign. quick and strong, he loves to get forward and has scored some important goals.
Joe Wear: A very experienced former hartlepool and Blyth Spartans player who is club captain. Strong on the ground, great in the tackle and shows tremendous composure on the ball.
Jordan Ray: Young defender signed from sunday football. Jordan is quick and strong with good distribution.
Russell Ward: Rejoins after a couple of seasons away. Has a great attitude and can play in a number of postions.
Midfielders
Paul Blakey: A new signing last season, with bags of Northern League experience. His former teams include North Shields, Alnwick Town and Morpeth Town. A great passer of the ball who loves a tackle and can get goals. Has been a great acquisition to the squad.
Kevin Carr: Can play on either flank or down the middle. Quick, direct and one of the best strikers of the ball at the club. A great finisher who has scored some quality goals.
Dan Chambers: A new signing from Whitley Bay A in the Northern Alliance and has been involved with their first team in the Northern League. Very comfortable on the ball and strong in the tackle. A great attitude.
Michael Creswick (Magic): Has joined after studying and playing in Australia. Quick, strong and technically very good. Great close control andd looks a great addition for this season.
Gary Dixon (Dicka): Left sided player who is also at home in the middle. A box to box player with great energy levels who weighs in with his share of goals. Formerly of Jarrow Roofing.
Ian Dixon (Dicka): Vastly experienced solid defender who played for the Stan in his younger days. Former Blyth Spartans and a great servant to Jarrow Roofing and a member of last seasons promotion winning side. Brother of Gary.
Lewis Burns: Young player signed from Whitley Bay. Can play wide or ufront. Quick, direct and hard working. A great addition to the squad.
Alex Redfearn: Has joined after sitting out last season. Previous clubs include Seaton Delaval and Whitley Bay. Very comfortable on the ball and has a good passing range. Possesses great energy.
Ryan Bailey: Joined us from North Shields Athletic after impressing during a friendly game. Very comfortable on the ball with a good passing range. Plays with an old head on young shoulders.
Anthony Johnson (Jonnas): Can play on either flank, where his electric pace is an asset. Works hard for the team and get his share of goals.
Andrew Weeks: A loyal former servant of the club. Has a great range of passing, is good in the tackle and is a free kick specialist.
Graeme Cairns: Signed from West Allotment Celtic and previously with Team Northumbria. Cairnsy will add some steel to the middle of the park with his tough tackling and also a great passer of the ball.
Celso Anjos: Very quick, direct player who can operate out wide or through the middle.
Gianpaolo Campania: Moved from italy where he played at a good level. Technically very good and can play across midfield. If he can handle the physical side of the English gamethen he will be a great addition to the squad.
Strikers
Lawrence McKenna (Tred): Another player who rejoined us in the second half of last season and settled in straight away. Big, strong and holds the ball up well bringing others around him into play. Previous Northern League experience with Whickham, Bedlington Terriers, Newcastle Benfield, Ryton and Crawcrook Albion and West Allotment Celtic.
Andrew Robertson: A player the club have been chasing for a couple of seasons. Prolific goalscorer for Whitley Bay A and had experience in their first team. Quick, strong and hard working. A greta attitude towards the game.
Damien Stevens: A quick and good finisher who was a prolific goal scorer with Birtley St. Josephs in the Northern Alliance befoore he moved to Chester-le-Street for the second half of last season scoring 15 goals in 21 games.
Gary Yates (Yatesy): the clubs longest serving player, who has scored countless goals for us over the past decade. Very hard working, gifted in the air and a tremendous club man all round.
Lee Johnson: A naturally gifted player with superb awareness and touch. Equally at home scoring goals or setting them up for others.Previously with team Northumbria and Bedlington Terriers.
Brian Dodsworth (Doddsy): A fantastic signing for the club who can play in a number of positions; quick, skilful, hard-working and scores goals. An important member of Newcastle Benfields 2008-09 double winning side; also played for Bedlington terriers and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.
Daniel Taggart: Signed from Morpeth Town after spending last season with Birtley Town. Old fashioned centre forward who is very strong, hard working, has a great touch and brings others into play.
Jonathan Wright: Prolific goal scorer for the club who like a bomerang keeps returning. Ex-Hibs youth player who briefly went to West Auckland last season and Jarrow Roofing at the beginning of this season.
Lee Waugh: Young forward signed from Morpeth Town. Lee is a strong, hard working player with a good touch and is a good finisher.
Paul Blackett: A very young forward who looks a great prospect. Very quick and strong with a good first touch and a good finisher. Ex-Newcastle United academy.
Derek Lowson: Derek joins the squad from Sunday football. A strong forward with a good touch.
