It was another sunny evening that saw Northern Alliance team Shankhouse F.C. visit Grounsell Park. Although the Stan slightly dominated, the outcome of the night resulted from three goals in three minutes in the second half.

The first thirty minutes saw shots at either end. The Stan though had more attempts especially as a result of ‘Ted’ Mckenna’s and Jonathan Wright’s efforts. The pressure paid off in the thirty sixth minute when new signing from Oz Mike Creswick scored. Both teams were then unlucky and it remained 1-0 at half time.

New Stan goalie Daniel Rule replaced regular though leaner stalwart Shaun Backhouse for the second half. The turning point came in the sixty third to sixty fifth minutes when goals by Mike Creswick, Kevin Carr and Gary Yates made it 4-0. Andy Robertson failed to add to the tally from the penalty spot and it remained 4-0 at full time.
