The only season Heaton Stannington competed in the league. This was the final season for the Tyneside League, with many clubs opting to join the Northern Alliance and Wearside League or disbanding. It was decided that there were insufficient clubs to continue for the 1939/40 season.

Wardley Colliery withdrew in November and the club’s record (P8 W2 D2 L4 F19 A19 P6) was deleted.
