This was the Stan’s 1^st friendly for a week as both matches planned for last Saturday, firstly away to Seaham Red Star then its replacement also away at Benfield) were cancelled. It turned out to be worth the wait for the 90 plus crowd as it was a hot match played in hot conditions.

After 10 minutes Callen scored from distance for RCA. The Stan were level in 33 minutes when Kerridge scored, just, from a penalty. Half time saw Simpson, Middleton, Anderson and Thirlaway replace Stoddart, Sayer, Robertson and Holland. 5 minutes later and Robertson was back on for Anderson, In 54 minutes, an error by the RCA keeper allowed Robertson to fire into the empty net. In 60 minutes it was 3-1 to the Stan when a corner ball from Charmey was diverted past the keeper and into the net by Robertson.

In 61 minutes Imray replaced Bailey. In 67 minutes Callen made it 3-2 with a header. In 70 minutes Holland replaced Robertson and in 82 minutes Bailey replaced Kerridge. In the last minute, RCA sneaked a draw when a trialist side footed the ball into the net.
