The Stan travelled to a very wet Ponteland United of the Northern Alliance Premier Division for their 2nd pre-season friendly and their 2nd comfortable win. Regan Paterson started the scoring in the 13th minute when he cut inside a full back and blasted the ball into the home net.

The 4 subs came on at half time and replaced Stoddart, Walker, Hoggins and Allen. It was 2-0 to the Stan after 49 minutes when Anderson passed to Campbell who was fouled in the box as he was about to shoot. Charmey took the resultant penalty and scored. After 53 minutes Hoggins was back on for Campbell. It was a convincing win for the Stan and coach Geoff Walker commented that there had been a great performance all over the pitch and that the Stan created plenty of chances and should have easily won by 5 or 6. A more difficult challenge awaits on Wednesday though when division 1 Consett visit Grounsell Park.
