The 1 st match of the season for both Stan teams took place at Coach Lane. James Harper, top scorer for the A team last season, started for the 1 st team & scored a hat-trick. There was also a start for new signing Connor Walker. 

The A team put up a good fight until the 33rd minute when a debatable penalty decision saw Harper score although Slaughter had hit the bar 8 minutes earlier. The last move of the 1 st half saw Lamb brought down in the box & Harper again scored the resulting penalty. 

The 1 st team stepped up a gear in the 2 nd half & goals from Sayer & Lamb, followed by a Lashley hat-trick saw them go 7-0 up. 

With 5 minutes to go, the A team scored from a Poole penalty. 

Harper scored again for the 1 st team before Robson got a well-earned 2nd goal for the A team.
