Life is not a Race

After  12th class board results, I happen to meet many students.I was happy to know that different students have opted for different courses for further studies. Some were going for B.Sc,some were going for primary school teaching courses, some have opted for speech therapy trainer course, many for engineering degree courses.

I found students were more interested in comparing oneself with other students. I told students that this misconception is very harmful and stressful for many students. It makes them feel like they are not good enough, or that they are missing out on something, or that they are wasting their time. It also makes them forget to enjoy the present moment and appreciate what they have.

In life journey everyone has their own pace, their own goals, their own challenges, and their own experiences. There is no right or wrong way to live your life, as long as one is happy and fulfilled. One doesn’t have to follow anyone else’s timeline or standards. One doesn’t have to compete with anyone else. One doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone.

The only thing that matters is that one lives ones life according to ones own values and passions. One should do what makes one happy and what gives one meaning. One should learn from ones mistakes and grow from ones challenges. One should  celebrate ones achievements and appreciate ones blessings. One should love oneself and others. That’s what life is all about.

Moral of story is friends  life is not a race. It’s a journey. And you are the only one who can decide how to make it the best journey possible.
