When you apply to join the Dark Horizons RPG, you will be sent an email of the blank character biography and a few other files. The character bio sheet is also available here on the website if you'd like to get a head start. Please send any completed bios, questions or concerns to the moderator email and one of the mods will respond as soon as possible. Please join as a pending member before sending in bio forms.
Please see the RPG's Timeline for details on our universe, which will help you weave your character's history into our story. Also, Game Setting will be helpful in knowing how your character comes to be with the X-Men and the area they will now be living in. Available Powers is another resource when trying to decide your character's mutant ability and where they will fit into the community.
In Character "How to Join" Info:
The X-Men and the community they have built currently reside on an island called Phoenix Cove. The safety of island relies on keeping it's location secret from Therizo and Apocalypse's forces. Anyone stumbling upon the location would be impossible thanks to a displacement field around the island, which makes it invisible and prevents anyone from finding it.
The X-Men routinely send out search parties to recruit and help those in need and this is how the majority of characters would be introduced to the game. Characters can also be introduced via a sister city, Black Hawk.
Anyone who wants to live on the island is put through a screening to prove that they are not a threat to Phoenix Cove or the people who live there. Only those with peaceful intentions, or the intention to join the X-Men, are allowed onto the island. These psychic screenings are conducted by Rusti Piotrowski and Oshinko Ikeda.
Once allowed onto the island, the new citizens can choose a place to live and look for work. There is much more to contribute to the community then just being an X-Man (see our Casting Calls page.) Refugees are issued a card with a barcode associated with their bank account, which gives them access to the island’s electronic economy. Their account comes with a sum of money to let them get by until they get on their feet.
Before you will be allowed access to the group, a character will need to be approved. Remember, only original characters will be accepted. After you create the character, our moderators will look over the bio and if needed request revisions or more details to the powers, their limitations, and other aspects of the character's bio. We try to keep the approval process as fast and efficient as possible, so usually its just a few quick emails, and you're in!
