Omega

Background: Omega was created to make up for the failures that was the Alpha series and to optimize the Prime Sentinel‘s functionality. He was created with the latest Sentinel technology as well as the scientific extraction of mutant abilities. The main subject of this testing was the mutant Rogue, who was captured after scientists attempted to retrieve Master Mold. Unable to retrieve the original Master Mold they began to build a new and improved Master Mold from the original’s data. Using Rogue’s ability to steal mutant’s powers they were able to create Omega’s assimilation technology. To avoid failure, Omega was built with an extremely limited sentience. It was the Alpha’s humanity that was blamed for their failure. It was decided that Omega would operate through logic and the instructions of Master Mold. Omega far exceeded expectations in both it’s physical prowess and duty as field commander. The only visible flaw was that with each bit of technology that Omega bonded with the information stayed within it’s memory, there by expanding it’s limited sentience. This was not something deemed worthy of fret however. That is, however, until Omega began to show signs of instability. He was becoming more and more aware. He began referring to himself as if he were an actual person. He began to question and occasional defy Master Mold’s orders. It was when Omega over heard that he was now targeted for capture to try and repair the issues that he severed his connection with Master Mold and went rogue. While still he maintained his prime directive of locating and capturing mutants he became much more callous and violent often brutally murdering mutants instead of capturing them. The most disturbing thing is Omega truly seemed to enjoy their pain and suffering. His twisted killing soon escalated to not only mutants but to humans as well.  It was clear that Omega was slowly burrowing into madness. The logic that once drove him was being replaced with the need for extreme violence and the suffering of man. Omega seemed unstoppable, even though the Prime Sentinels were still under government control Omega could still assimilate them and change their directive to his side with a simple touch.

It was after a confrontation in Atlantis that Omega’s A.I. finally snapped. He developed a new persona which he dubbed himself “Reaper Omega.” This mentality soon decided that his only option was the total genocide of both man and mutant alike. After the battle with Namor, Omega’s body was left in ruins. Though he attempted to escape his systems were too badly damaged. His remains were discovered by and brought to back to a government complex for proper disposal. When Dr. Sackmaster found out about this he was outraged. He stole Omega and began working to restore him in secret. Bitter and full of hate Sackmaster enhanced Omega into the perfect killing machine. No longer restricted by the government he gave Omega a full free will. Once restored Omega began to take his visions of genocide to the next level. He was still able to control the sentinels and planned on using them to burn humanity to the ground.

Knowing he would have to do something wide scale Omega began an end game. He planned to use various satellites to take control of the sentinels on a mass scale. It is unknown how Omega himself made it into space, all is known is that somehow he melded himself onto a government satellite and began his conquest. Omega’s first order of business was to eradicate MasterMold, his competition. In this he was successful. After his first business was taken care of he began infecting and assimilating every sentinel on the East coast. The carnage was delicious, however his games were cut off short when the United States government fought back using a missile to blow Omega to smithereens. Celebration was in order; however it seemed that even though Omega was gone, someone was still controlling the sentinels.

While Sackmaster was aware of his creation’s desires he was not the least bit concerned. He was going to live forever through Omega. To do so he made Omega immortal by taking Omega’s consciousness and data and turning it into a virus. One that could replicate and infect any sentinel of his choosing. Whilst Omega began working on taking control of the sentinel army, Sackmaster went to work growing host bodies for Omega to inhabit should something happen to his second form.

Expecting the humans to respond in such a way Omega revealed his true plan. Maintaining control of his sentinel army he stormed the East coast taking the government by storm. With the goings on with Apocalypse, Omega seized this opportunity to finish off what was left of the government. With that out of the way the sentinels were free to terrorize and ravage the East coast. Humanity was lost with no one to turn to. It was a gift from above when a man by the name of Ammon Xenon Machina, head of the Therizo Corporation stepped forward saying that he could control and detain the sentinels and with his assistance the forces of Apocalypse would be kept at bay. The people could go on living safe from harm in his hands.

Most humans were more than happy to live in Ammon’s police state. He did as he said, the sentinels patrolled the boarders and kept out the unwanted. The lurked through the streets making sure the cozy inhabitants stayed safe in their warm beds. Life continued on with a make shift normalcy. The Therizo corporation took place of what was left of the government. All in all Ammon’s, or rather Omega’s end game worked out exactly the way he had planned.
