Date Of Birth: January 1
Place Of Birth: Near Canterbury, England

Powers: Phobos reaches into a person’s psyche, and creates a physical representation of something her victim is afraid of. Usually this is a twisted, exaggerated version of that fear, which will then attack the person it originated from. Once the construct is created, anyone can see and interact with it normally. It physically exists in the world and has its own set of rules it obeys. The creature has all the strengths and traits the fearful person ‘gives’ it. The creatures will not threaten or attack Phobos.
Longevity: Phobos has lived a very long time, and is a long time ally of Serena’s. She can be killed, she simply does not age.
Power Limitations: Once she creates a construct, it targets the source of the fear at first, but after that Phobos has no control over it. The creature will react to other attackers and stimulus naturally. She has to make eye contact with her victim to use her power. She can only create one monster per source/victim, but if the monster is destroyed she can then create another.
The creature she creates will have the weaknesses normally associated with that creature - a vampire will burn in the sun, a werewolf will be vulnerable to silver, holy items will mess up demonic creatures, etc. The construct will continue to exist until it is destroyed, or until it manages to kill its intended victim.
Hobbies and Interests: Astrology, psychology, philosophy - things that influence the mind fascinate her. She has also developed a ‘guilty pleasure’ addiction to reality television and daytime dramas. She has been stockpiling Blu-Rays of her favorite shows, knowing their like won’t be seen again for a good long time.
Background: Deirdre grew up one of the middle daughters of a blacksmith. She was married off to the village barber, who had a weakness for alcohol and a bad temper when he was drunk. He would punish her for the slightest infraction when he was in his cups, which was most of the time that he wasn’t working. This was centuries ago, when no one thought twice about how their neighbors treated their wives.
Deirdre discovered her ability to draw out fears when she accidentally created a monster horse that trampled her father to death - who turned out to have been a little afraid of horses his whole life. The horse was hunted and put down, amid murmurings of witchcraft, but no one ever pointed the finger at Deirdre.
But she knew what she’d done. Her father was gone, the one who’d sold her to a life of misery, but her husband was still alive. One day, as he was leaving for work, she used her newfound ability to create a
fearful apparition - a woman three times his size, with double the parts she should have, who picked him up and ran off with him. Neither were ever seen again, and soon Deirdre quietly slipped out of the village with every coin she could find, before the rumors of witchcraft were connected to her.
She educated herself as much as she could, and seduced men into giving her what she wanted, or teaching her what she needed to know. She never stayed in one place long; she was always traveling, always leaving another death behind her. She was fascinated by the beasts she created, and her victims’ reactions to them before they were destroyed.
As the position of women in the world improved, she collected more influence and wealth, until she finally founded a corporation that pays her current identity a very generous stipend from all the investments she’s made over the years. Long ago, she crossed paths and allied herself with another mutant named Serena. They often work together, and have formed a bond of mutual respect, if not actual friendship.
When the war was triggered, she allied herself with Apocalypse. She’s no religious fanatic, but she says the right words and is loyal, so she has managed to stay on Conquest’s team through the fallout of Apocalypse’s death.
Personality: Phobos likes to manipulate from the shadows where she can, and seduce people into doing what she wants when she can’t. She is utterly without mercy, and will watch someone suffer in fear or pain just to take notes on their mental state. Conversations with her, if she does not respect the other person, often feel like interrogations.
