Powers: Phasing. Marcela has the ability to temporarily expel the molecules inside herself to disperse around her in the form of glowing orbs of light, varying in size, and typically circling around her. The loss of these molecules allows her body to become intangible and she can pass through solid and organic objects unhindered. Marcela can selectively affect certain parts of her body, for example, she can keep her legs solid while the rest of her body loses density.
Power Limitations: Marcela cannot extend her powers to large objects or people outside of herself besides her clothes or small handheld non-organic objects. She still has to breathe, so Prudence cannot stand phased in a solid object for longer than she can hold her breath.
Sentinel Upgrades: Marcela has been changed into a Bio Sentinel with the use of nanites injected into her blood. As a sentinel Marcela has these additional abilities: increased strength, durability, flight, mutant detection, tracking and identification, mental communication with and control over lesser Sentinels, link system in the neck for software upgrades which also allows her to access machines she comes into contact with.
Hobbies and Interests: Shopping. Marcela loves buying makeup, jewelry and clothing accessories, especially flashy earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts and shoes. She prefers expensive name brands and wouldn't step foot in a second hand shop. She likes reggaeton and salsa music, drinking, wine tasting, dancing, pool, and gambling. Marcela is a flirt, so she will flirt with anyone even though she is only interested in women. Don't let her carefree attitude fool you, Marcela is an expert markswoman, loves anything that goes boom, and packs a bunch at both kick boxing and MMA fighting.
Background: Marcela was born to a young mother, and though Ramona had not much to her name she had Thiago, Marcela's father, at least for the first few years. Ramona never had enough to provide for her daughter so when Thiago left when Marcela was five years old, Ramona gave her daughter up. Marcela landed in a Catholic Orphanage, the House of Hope. When Marcela was eight years old, Guatemala was devastated by Hurricane Stan and the severe flooding caused by the storm. The orphanage was in the area of some of the worst floods, and as the body count continued to rise the President asked for assistance from any neighboring countries. The United States was one of those to respond, and rescuers worked to airlift survivors to safety. Much of the city and its buildings had been destroyed, so many of the orphans were separated and sent to other facilities, while some were taken over the borders into American establishments, Marcela among them.Marcela's English was poor at first, making her not a great candidate for adoption, but she began schooling and learned quickly. Finally when she was twelve a couple, two men named Paul and Anthony, adopted her and invited her into their posh upper class home in Boston. They already had quite a few adopted children, with Mary, Penny and Jude being Paul's only biological children from his first marriage. She was given the chance to rename herself, and so she picked Prudence, though she regretted that later in life as she didn't think the name fit her. She was convinced her life with the Kleinbeckers would be temporary just like all the rest, but it ended up lasting and she fell in love with her new family. She was accepted both for being a mutant and a lesbian without question. Everything was beyond perfect and she was becoming quite spoiled. The high life lasted until Paul, a Senator whom was pro mutant rights, was taken under false charges and thrown in jail. Anthony had a plan to use Ringo's powers to free his husband, and Prudence was demanding to go to help but was told to stay home and look after her siblings. It is one of her biggest regrets, not going anyway, because that was to be the last time she saw Anthony for a long time.
Sentinels came to attack their home shortly after, and the big family barely escaped with their lives and have been on the run ever sense. They had enough money in their accounts to live comfortably, but not forever, so Mary, Penny, Jude and Kite all got jobs to help pay for food and whatever else the younger siblings may have needed. Eventually Jude abandoned the family with his girlfriend to have a normal life and Kite went missing after another run in with a sentinel. The twins, Mary and Penny, decided to move the family yet again to a small town in Nebraska where the younger kids would be safe. Marcela and Ringo eventually decided to leave as they were the only two that had active mutant powers at this time, and staying with them might be dangerous.
PM and her brother lived motel to motel to for several weeks, until they heard news of a meeting being held to recruit mutants to work with the X-Men. When they arrived they were assigned to a team in Glendale, California, whose base of operation was out of an old abandoned airport. The team was fairly small - about eleven people - and Marcela worked with them for several months, getting extended training on weapons, hand to hand combat, and help with her powers as well. Things were going well with the team, until a disastrous mission that caused the death of half of their members. While the remaining members were trying to rebuild the sanction, a woman named Uschi both her and Ringo had managed to form a crush on left. She was transferring to a different, currently active unit, and the siblings decided to pack up and follow her to New Orleans without permission.
Marcela, Ringo and Uschi were accepted by the X-Man team in New Orleans, and Marcela eventually managed to weasel her way into Uschi's heart, or so she thought. She chased the woman for months, who seemed to love to tease Marcela, and just as she finally agreed to start a relationship, Uschi left the team without explanation. Marcela knew Uschi had always been against relationships but she had seemed willing to try for her. Her leaving hit Marcela surprisingly hard, and this was only made worse when Marcela's second attempt at love, Portia, left her to return to her ex-girlfriend. In private, Marcela became embittered towards relationships, but was still the same pleasant and flirtatious person. She just wasn't looking for serious anymore, instead settling for flings and one night stands. Over the months, Marcela had stayed in contact with her foster parents in prison, sending them letters from P.O. boxes i other states, as well as with Mary and the rest of her adopted siblings. She knew her family was barely struggling to make it without her fathers, so with the help of another X-Man, Emma, Marcela and Ringo decided to break them out of prison. The X-Men team did not support the mission, thinking it too risky and not directly related to the cause, but the siblings were determined anyway. While it wasn't without its hiccups, Paul and Anthony were rescued and taken to where the family was staying in Nebraska. Marcela was briefly torn, considering quitting the X-Man to be with her family again, but eventually decided she needed to continue to fight, otherwise her family would always be in hiding. For a mission, Marcela and some others from the team had to allow themselves to be captured by the government. They were transferred to a camp as planned, allowing the X-Men to track the locations of several Mutant Control Facilities. Forced to stay there until the X-Men attacked the base, Marcela had a hard time seeing the mistreatment of mutants first hand. She found herself starting to hate humans, and more sympathetic towards groups such as the Acolytes who advocated mutant superiority. This has caused contention with her teammates on several occasions, and Marcela is in agreement with Caz and some others that the X-Men need to take a more aggressive, and potentially anti-human, stance. An expert and lover of heavy weaponry, Marcela was made a supplier of Weapons along with Caz and Beth. She was responsible for not only weapons but other useful equipment, such as bullet proof vests, comm units, and the like. Caz was normally the one finding the goods, then it was up to Beth and Marcela to go in and take them - with force, if necessary. Normally they would just slip in undetected, thanks to their powers. Marcela takes this job very seriously, and is one of the commonly used resources on the field. She hopes to become a trainer or a field leader someday. While Marcela was flourishing in the X-Man group, her brother, Ringo, was sinking. He had never been the best at hand to hand combat, and wasn't seen as reliable by the higher ups. It may have been partly why he choose to leave when their father, Paul, became ill. It wasn't something that was easily treatable, especially without money and any good doctors on hand. Ringo decided to stay and help take care of him with the others, and Marcela considered it briefly herself. She felt guilty, but she eventually decided to stay with the X-Men, promising a better world to her family someday.
When Therizo rose to power after the President of the Unites States was murdered, the X-Men knew the company was not the savior of humanity that it claimed. The opposite couldn't be more true of the company's CEO, Ammon, who the X-Men knew was the sentinel Omega with a human disguise. When Ammon was addressing the country in a public statement, Marcela lead a team of X-Men to attack the conference, and succeeded in revealing to the world what Ammon really was. Marcela was an unexpected causality of this mission, when Ammon injected nanites into her, changing her biological make up into that of an Bio Sentinel.
Marcela was brought back to the base, wounded, and near mad. She was kept sedated while the team tried and failed to remove the nanites from her blood, and Oshinko attempted to free her mind from the control they feared Ammon would have over her. After several weeks Marcela was able to leave the medlab and attempt to live normally among the base members again, and she trained hard to learn to control her new body and abilities. Her behavior was strange at times but she never let on how difficult it was for her to maintain control of herself. Every day she felt a bit of her self control and humanity slipping away but her stubborn streak wouldn't allow her to ask for help.
One day, it was too much for her, and Marcela attacked her girlfriend Beth during an argument. Her programming constantly pushed her to eliminate the mutants, and had Beth been a weaker woman she may have died that day. Out of control, Marcela fled the base and was seen later fighting at Ammon's side, still retaining her personality and memories but firmly under Ammon's control.
While it is unconfirmed, it is believed that Marcela revealed to Therizo the location of the X-Men's secret base in New Orleans. She was among the sentinels that staged the attack against the team, leveling the base, murdering several X-Men, and devastating the surrounding area.
Personality: Marcela is a sweet-talking person who sees herself as streetwise and may often seem conceited. She is friendly, blunt, very flirtatious, but surprisingly patient and perceptive at times. She may appear to have a carefree attitude, but she takes her goals very seriously and works hard to achieve them. She can be hotheaded and quick to anger if she feels like herself or someone she cares about are being disrespected. Rules and laws are seen as guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. If Marcela has decided that something needs to be done, then her "do it and get on with it" attitude takes precedence over the rules.
Special Notes: Model/Play By: Vanessa Hudgens. The names Prudence and Marcela are interchangeable for her, she answers to both of them and often introduces herself as one or the other depending upon her mood. PM is her most commonly used nickname. She is also allergic to cats.
