Name: Francisco Lamon
Code-Name: Lunatic
Position: Morlock
Ethnicity: Italian-American
Sex: Male
Age: 51
Appearance:
Hair: Lunatic is covered in shades of gray. He’s got a darker undercoat, and has silver highlights. The range of colors makes his fur look thicker than it is.
Eyes: Silver, with black slits
Skin: Covered in fur.
Height: Lunatic is over eight feet all, but it’s hard to tell by how much since he’s perpetually hunched over and his mutation prevents him from standing up completely straight.
Build:
Other: Lunatic is a mutate. He looks like a wolfman, with the fur, claws for hands, elongated snout and ears and a tail. He has a broad, heavy body with a lot of muscles.
Place Of Birth: Queens, New York
Education: Home schooled
Important Relatives: The Morlocks are Lunatic’s family. No blood relatives to his knowledge, though there are a couple of bastards running around the Morlocks that could possibly be his.
Powers: Lunatic has enhanced strength, enough to break bones if he gets someone in a bear hug. He has claws and teeth similar to a wolf’s but a little longer and sharper, making it easy for him to rend flesh. His saliva is a hallucinogen. If he bites someone, or otherwise gets his saliva in their system through their mouth, nose, eyes, a wound, they will experience hallucinations making it difficult for them to see the world as it is or fight effectively. Often they’ll see things along the lines of a multitude of Lunatics, or everything will become moving lights (including the people) so that it’s hard to tell what to hit. Lunatic’s nerves have been burned out, he does not feel or react to pain.
Power Limitations: The hallucinations only last a couple of minutes at most, less if not as much saliva got transferred. While he doesn’t feel pain, he is not immune to damage, and eventually blood loss and muscle damage will stop him just as much as anyone else. He isn’t strong enough to throw a car, just to flip it over with effort.
Hobbies and Interests: Lunatic reads a lot. He likes movies and would try to lurk around drive-in lots to watch movies.
Background: Lunatic was born the way he was. The day he was born, his father took him from the hospital, looking for all the world like a wolf cub. It wasn’t ‘illegal’ to be a mutant at that time, but Frank’s father didn’t want his son to be turned into a lab rat or worse.
Frank’s mom never joined them. He doesn’t know why, but has his suspicions.
Frank Sr. and son got a double-wide on a lot in the woods in upstate New York. They didn’t have much money at all. Frank Sr. was a plumber, but in that area there wasn’t a lot of work, and the economy wasn’t great. Lunatic craved meat, but they could hardly afford it, so Frank had to get a .22 and hunt for squirrels, rabbits, whatever he could track down until Lunatic was old enough to hunt for himself.
His father did what he could to teach Lunatic, but after a certain point Frank Junior’s hungry mind demanded more books, at a higher level, until he was reading heavy literature and studying at a college level without ever attending high school. Junior was a genius, but his appearance and poverty kept him from getting a traditional education. By the time he heard of Xavier’s school, he figured he was too old to even try to get in.
When his father died, the boy stopped using his human name and started calling himself Lunatic full time - the secret name he had for himself. The double-wide became a den more like an animal’s. He set up a generator and stole fuel for it, staying off the grid. He hunted animals in the woods. He robbed to get manufactured things that he couldn’t hunt for.
Time passed. He lived vicariously through books, he kept an eye on the papers, and he could see where the world was headed. He met a young mutate, Fang, who was with the Morlocks in New York City. Lunatic tried to convince them all to join him in the open air, but they seemed in love with being underground. Still, he felt some comradery for the pitiful bastards, and started supplying food as things became worse for mutants in New York.
He joined them when they left, and resented Wilson Grubb immediately for his role as leader, the decisions he made, but the others loved him. Then they went to Phoenix Cove after having their minds turned inside-out, and lost one of their own as a result. Revenge was in order, and even if Lunatic couldn’t tear leadership of the Morlocks from Wilson’s grasp, he could still take matters into his own hands.
Personality:
He who yells loudest wins the argument. He backs his attitude with facts and learning, but at the heart of it he’s full of pure animal aggression and the need to be on top in a pack. He’s well spoken even in anger, screaming at people like some kind of fire and brimstone preacher, no matter what the topic. In essence, he just plain believes he’s better than you and will go to any lengths to prove it.
Special Notes:
