Three children with Jubal, the eldest is Evelia (girl, 16 yrs old, deceased), Shae (boy, 14 yrs, deceased) and Katie (girl, 5 yrs). Powers: Single Animal Form - Cougar. Bailey's cougar form is twice the size of the average adult cougar, weighing three hundred and eighty pounds and is thirteen feet, ten inches in length from nose to tail. In this form, she can run 75 miles an hour in short bursts covering distances up to one hundred and sixty yards. Her level of strength is greatly increased, proportionate to an animal that size and she has excellent vision, hearing, smell and taste.
Power Limitations: Although Bailey can reach high speeds in her cougar form, her body cannot stand long distance running. No aspects of the cougar form are retained in her normal form, so she does not have enhanced senses, ect, normally. All injuries sustained during the transformation will remain once she returns to normal and she heals normally in both forms and would require medical attention if injured. If she falls unconscious or becomes mortally wounded while in her cougar form, she will return to normal.
Additional Skills and Abilities: Bailey can pilot a wide variety of aircraft, from the top of the line jet fighter Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, to rotorcrafts such as helicopters, and fixed-wing aircrafts like the modern passenger airliners, military cargo planes, and smaller propeller planes. In the Air Force, she received a wide range of combat, survival, and weapons training, though it was less focused than some of the other military sanctions.
Background: Bailey was a bright child that grew up in a privileged life with successful mutant parents, both of them with small, inconspicuous powers. Her father always told her to be proud of her mutant heritage, but to also honor the human side of herself as well. He believed fully in peace between humans and mutants. He told her she could do anything she put her mind to and to never let anyone tell her she couldn't. She made them proud by excelling in school and being very determined to achieve her goals - she wanted to be an Air Force pilot since she was a little girl, and after years of effort in ROTC and flight school, was able to do so. She served ten years in the Air Force after college, and in this time she met and married her husband, who was
handsome, dedicated, and driven. She gave birth to their first child, a beautiful baby girl, two years after they were married.
Once Bailey completed her service with the military, she became a Law Enforcement officer for the Burlington state police, as part of the air unit flying helicopters. It was eight years into this career, now with two more beautiful children, that the routine of life began to wear on her. The husband she had once adored she could no longer stand, and he seemed to share the same sentiment.
After being married for sixteen years, and miserable for longer than she cared to admit, Bailey finally asked Jubal for a divorce. The point of contention between them was their three children, Bailey didn't want them to grow up fatherless, but Jubal was intent on moving off to Washington across the country, making their agreement for joint custody tricky business. Finally the two decided the kids would spend the winter with Bailey, and then fly out to Seattle for the summertime to stay with their father.
Bailey didn't like being away from her children for so long, and those first few summers were very hard on her. She spent much of her free time on the phone chatting with her youngest daughter. She missed them constantly. It was the end of summer when first signs of the Mutant Registration Act began to be publicized, but her parents seemed to think the news stations were dramatizing all the events for the sake of ratings. It wasn't the first time this type of thing was blown out of proportion.
Bailey received a call that a mall in Seattle had been bombed, a result of a mutant's powers going out of control and over fifty people had died. Among them, was her two eldest children, her daughter Evelia and her
son Shae. Jubal, her husband, had been home with their youngest daughter Katie when it happened. The tragedy changed everything in Bailey's life, and she blamed Jubal for what happened, and he blamed mutants.
The two began to fight constantly over the custody rights on Katie, and Jubal's biggest argument used in court was that Bailey, herself, was a mutant and therefore it wasn't safe for Katie to be around her mother.
Bailey was forced to register, and lost Katie to Jubal - she was only allowed to see her daughter in supervised meetings, that weren't easy to plan when her and Jubal lived in different states. She lost her job, her boss pointing to minor errors she had made here and there over the years, but she knew the real reason why. In her own neighborhood, Bailey's house began to get vandalized, and the police whom had used to be her friends would do little to help her. A country she had once loved and spent half of her life serving and protecting continued down the road a dark road of blaming mutants, and wanting to contain and control mutants.
The proposed Safety Act of 2017 was the last little push Bailey needed to do something about it, and she packed up her things and flew to Utopia Island, planning on joining the Acolytes and their cause. Her time spent with the Acolytes and Amelia Vought was brief, as the U.S. Government was quick to attack and destroy everything they had built. The Acolytes scattered to the wind, many of them dead, and when Apocalypse appeared on the west coast Bailey stayed low, torn between defending her country that had betrayed her and siding with her own kind.
Eventually settling at the edge of Apocalypse territory (more for safety from Therizo than anything else) Bailey was eventually highly sought after, due to her skills as a pilot. She didn't trust any of the Apocalypse sympathizers but found herself at the service of the Horseman War, transporting the fierce woman's entourage when long distance travel was needed.
When Apocalypse was murdered, Bailey didn't shed any tears, but his death created a vacuum of power in the territory as the Horsemen and higher level generals fought for power. She was surprised when War decided to cut ties and leave, and when Skyler explained Noelle had never been loyal to Apocalypse, Bailey decided to help them transport trusted allies to a new island and a new hope - Genosha.
Personality: Bailey is very action-oriented. She would call herself a "doer," someone who is focused on immediate results and willing to plunge right in to get her hands dirty. She can be impatient with long explanations, vague theories, and indecisive people. She is a risk-taker who is used to living a fast-paced lifestyle with lots of excitement and spontaneity.
