Powers: Terrakinesis. Seraph has the ability to control the earth, create earthquakes through the shifting of fault lines and plates, move rock and the ground freely. A common attack is shooting spikes of rock up from the ground. He often advances faster by moving rocks around and with him, as if riding a wave of earth or shooting himself up onto a pedestal. Using his abilities he has created large scale earthquakes, with him as the epicenter.
He also has enhanced strength and a regenerative ability; not a natural ability, this ability slows his aging some and allows him to heal faster than normal. Where a normal break would take weeks to heal, it takes him a quarter of the time. This allows him to shrug off most minor wounds. Both these abilities are due to his injections of Apocalypse’s blood throughout his life.
Armor: Seraph occasionally wears ornate white and silver armor. The armor was custom made, with sharp plated edges that would cut someone trying to physically confront him, and cannot be pierced by anything short of armor piercing bullets. Daggers of multiple length hang at his hip, along with a satchel of Cae's positions, most specifically her healing elixir. The armor is heavy, so it slows him down, and the helmet in particular limits his vision, so he does not wear it into battle unless he feels it necessary. See below for picture.
Power Limitations: Seraph must be in contact with the ground, this is not limited by objects like shoes, concrete, first story buildings, etc, but if he was on a plane, thrown through the air or separated from his connection to the earth in any way, his powers would be rendered inert. He is only able to create out from himself and the area around him in roughly a one mile radius. He may cause damage beyond his immediate area; from the rock shifting and causing other natural rocks or fault lines to react (which is how he has done some of his more impressive displays of power in the past.) The radius was originally not so broad, but his powers increased after the dose of Apocalypse’s blood he received as a member of the Clan Akkaba.
Seraph cannot create terra out of nothing, he can only use the materials at his disposal. He also cannot make rocks float or anything of this sort, he is able to make large pillars or spikes of rocks that may reach many hundred feet into the air, but the rock must maintain connection with the earth itself at all times.
His healing ability is not instant and is indistinguishable from a normal persons on sight with the exception of shallow scraps or cuts. His strength is a considerable increase (he could lift around 500lbs) but no where near super human.
Hobbies and Interests: Seraph plays violin. Seraph is an avid lover of fine clothing and luxurious material possessions. Seeing him in an Armani suit would not be uncommon. He always carries an ornate dagger with him, once owned by Ozymandias the scribe of Apocalypse, and prefers knives over guns. He takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others, especially those he takes a specific interest in. He is a firm believer in the Church of Apocalypse, and Apocalypse’s survival of the fittest dogma as he was raised in the Clan Akkaba. He avidly believes that the weak should be killed so that the strong can survive on a more pure earth. He spends most of his time working for the benefit of Apocalypse's goals and is the most dedicated of the Horsemen.
Background: Seraph was born to former villain Mac Gargan and his wife, they had gone on the run due to Gargan's crimes as both the Scorpion and briefly Venom. When his family was attacked at a young age, by Japanese authorities, he was separated from his parents, but not before his mother told him that she was a member of the Clan Akkaba and that the clan would come for him and take care of them. Seraph never saw either of his parents again after that point.Kidnapped from foster care Seraph was taken in by the Clan Akkaba. The clan had seen the boys genetic potential as a mutant and took him in to raise him as a member of the clan. They infused him with Apocalypse's blood and placed the clans tattoo on the middle of his back. They raised him to be a loyal servant of Apocalypse so he spent his life believing in the survival of the fittest. Sent off to university in his homeland of Japan he was given the best education possible by the clan at the highest of universities.Seraph quickly grew to be a wealthy and educated member of the Japanese community. Raised by an English member of the Clan, his accent was always off in Japan, making him have to fight harder for acceptance from those around him, but Seraph liked the idea of the challenge. Seraph over time began to desire a young Japanese woman, he found her to be the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and like all other things in his life, he believed he deserved to own it because he was the best so he deserved the best available.Seraph was enraged after months of manipulations, the girl denied him. He created a mild earthquake in the small town, using it as a distraction so he could break into her home, knowing the authorities would be busy. He killed her, slitting her throat and that of her family. Committing the first murders of his life, he relished in it. He loved the feel of taking another person's life, of watching them fall apart and the life leave their eyes. He quickly became addicted to it. He knew that he would be a suspect in the murders, so he took his money and left the country behind, leaving the home he had known and moving to America with the Clan.
It was here that they began what could only be described as a cult, the Church of En Sabah Nur. The church of mutants and humans who were found worthy, allowed to worship the God that was Apocalypse. He came out with documents proving his connection as a descendant to Apocalypse to take a higher position in the church. Some claimed they were forged, though any that came forward with these claims were quickly silenced. It is unknown if he is actually a descendant of Apocalypse or not, but to question it is a quick way to be quietly made to disappear.
Meeting a man named Ozymandius, the Scribe of Apocalypse, he was told of Apocalypse's return, foretold in Ozymandius's drawings. This was like finding a new bible to the religious zealot. Seraph helped restore Apocalypse to power, and brought in the church on his coattails, making the man who had essentially raised him the high priest, preaching the betterment of Apocalypse and of his ideals. He fought to become a Horseman but was not immediately accepted. It was the nature of things that he would have to prove himself.
It wasn't long before he began serving the current Horseman Conquest as a representative of the church. Seraph bided his time and when he knew he had the support he needed, he killed the Horseman and claimed the position as his own. For Seraph, a founding Church member to be made into a Horseman was like he had risen to godhood itself. He rode into battle without question; fighting to seal his territory, and built up his own followers in the process.
Within his territory Seraph discovered a mutant battle arena set up and run by humans for their entertainment. He sent his troops to slaughter hundreds of prisoners as well as the men who ran it. He had expected these mutants to put up more of a fight, but he was disappointed except in the case of one woman named Cae. She didn't surrender, she fought to stay alive and the Horseman respected it, and eventually he welcomed her into his faction.
Cae's powers intrigued him and he knew she would have many uses, but he always kept a watchful eye on her. He knew that many wanted to usurp his position as a Horseman. Cae surprised him though, by becoming hyper loyal and much to his pleasure, she even went out of her way to bring him a gift he had no idea he wanted. She'd managed to track down his father, Mac Gargan, and to prove her loyalty to her lord she murdered the elderly man in front of him. It wasn't long after that the two became romantically involved, and have been together for two years.
Seraph helped Apocalypse's forces claim more territory and as long as one was willing to fight for it, they were welcome in his area of the world. That was until a group known as the Sisterhood broke into his citadel in an attempt to steal his dagger, wanting it for it's mystical properties. Seraph managed to capture one member of the group, but not before he teleported the rest of them away. Seraph tortured Dallas for weeks, planing to kill him, but withdrew when he saw a better option.
Through drugging and torture methods, Seraph made Dallas into his loyal pet to serve at his side. As a fail safe, Seraph keeps a collar around the mutants neck constantly. It is designed to explode if Seraph's heart stopped, if Dallas moved more than hundred yards away from him, or if the collar was removed. It also allowed Seraph to administrate volts of electricity as punishment or disable or enable his powers at will. Cae seemed to take a liking to the boy and the two kept Dallas in their home like a pet for many months.
With his new ability to instantly be anywhere, his Kingdom became much more controlled, using Dallas to teleport in on any sort of uprising and quelling it. Conquest is responsible for the fall of Russia. With this, Seraph grew in favor of Apocalypse and managed to make himself feared in his land like he never had before and he relished in it.
During an attack by the X-Men, Dallas was taken from them. The rescue also served as a distraction tactic, as another team of X-Men were successful in killing Apocalypse that same night. War was the only Horseman with their lord at the time, and Seraph blames her personally for his death. Seraph and Cae's home was also destroyed in the process, making Seraph hate the X-Men all the more.
The powerful couple returned to Apocalypse's temple in Death Valley, where Seraph spoke to thousands of followers from the Church of the Apocalypse, leading them in their mourning. He told them to honor their fallen God as a martyr and had no doubt that Apocalypse would rise again. He need only procure a suitable body for the task.
Apocalypse's death caused a vacuum of power among the followers highest ranks, with Sinister and the Horsemen fighting for power and territory. Conquest took the temple, forcing War and Death to flee back to their own pillars. Sinister was allowed to remain only as an asset to bring Apocalypse back, and after offering a gift - a young child by the name of Cillian, as a child was something that Cae had wanted for a long time. He thought with Dallas gone, she could do with another distraction.
Of the Horsemen, Famine refused to back down, forcing the territories to war for a time. After Seraph and Cae were successful in murdering her, he gave the title of Famine to Cae, a gesture of the highest honor.
Personality: Seraph is manipulative, he knows how to turn on the charm to get what he wants or use fear tactics to control others. He usually speaks like a proper gentleman - until you piss him off, then his speech can be erratic and irrational. His main drive is a lust for power. When it comes to the people in his life, they are possessions and tools not beings, ways for him to achieve a means to an end. He enjoys inflicting pain on others and kills without blinking an eye. However he's far from emotionless, he is passionate about his ideals, Cae, and those he views as his possessions and property. He has an extreme case of narcissism, he thinks very highly of himself and is known to rant about his title and merit. He is pretentious and likes the finer things because he firmly believes that he deserves nothing but the best; he gets what he desires, because he doesn't let anyone stand in his way.
Special Notes: Seraph loves the color white, he tends to always wear white, usually in the form of a white suit or button down shirt. This bleeds into appreciation for pure things, pale skin, light eyes, blondes, ect.
