In this task you will use the Tracker video analysis to determine the change in velocity of two colliding pucks. Change in velocity is an important measure because it enables us to determine the direction a force is applied to cause the change in motion.
Remember
F = ma = m (Δv)/t (acceleration = change in velocity/time)
= m (v-u)/t (as the only vector quantities in this relationship is the initial and final velocities, the vector result of the change in velocity gives the direction of the force.
Down load this video file and use the tracker software to determine the magnitude of the velocity and the angle of each puck before and after the collision. Use vector subtraction to find the resultant change in velocity for each puck.
