Electric power lesson 8

OUTCOME

By the end of the lesson you will recognise and use the relationship between frequency and period to calculate average EMF for a rotating loop. You will recognise the AC signal is sinusoidal and use RMS to determine equivalent DC voltages and currents.

RMS, peak, peak to peak, frequency and period are all measures of AC electricity.

VRMS = Vpeak / √2

VRMS describes the AC voltage required to deliver the equivalent power as a DC voltage at the same value

LEARNING TASKS

Explain

If you are to calculate the average EMF of a rotating coil given the frequency. How would you find the change in time?
