OUTCOME
By the end of the lesson you will be able to recall that light energy is known as the electromagnetic spectrum and identify that light is produced through the change in motion (acceleration) of an electrons.
An accelerated electron will emit electromagnetic radiation. This is the fundamental principle of Synchrotron Light.

1. What are the key differences between 'synchrotron' light and 'normal' light?
2. Why is this light so useful?
Watch this youtube to review emission and absorption spectra
3. Using a set of diagrams, explain the difference betweenemission spectra and absorption spectra
