OUTCOME
By the end of the lesson you will recognise that quarks are one of the fundamental particles that make up protons and neutrons. You will be able to explain how thr discovery was made through our understanding of the spectrum.
Protons and Neutrons are made from even smaller particles which are called quarks
Every subatomic particle has a corresponding ANTI-particle.
When a subatomic particle meets its corresponding anti-particle, the two annihilate each other.
LEARNING TASKS
Explain
Using the quark model, show how a protons has a charge of +1 and a neutron, a charge of zero
Explore and Elaborate
Activity: Make a particle model game.
design a particle model card or board game that uses your knowledge of the particle families
Evaluate
