Resonance in a tube

Using a speaker at one end and small holes drilled in a tube we can examine sound in gas.

Use these images to determine the speed of sound in this gas. The gas holes are 2.5 cm apart. Use this to estimate the size of the wavelength and then use the wave equation to find the Speed of sound in gas

f = 770 Hz

f = 930 Hz

Natural gas is made mainly from methane. How do your results compare with known values?

What uncontrolled factors will effect this experiment.

The tube is 170 cm long. what is the fundamental frequency for this tube?
