Electric power - lesson 1

OUTCOME

By the end of the lesson you will recognise and explain the workings of a DC motor and meters such as volt and ammeters.

A DC motor uses the magnetic force on coils of wire to create rotation that can then be used to perform mechanical work.

A charged particle will be deflect by a magnet field. The size of the force causing the deflection can be found using F = qvB and the direction can be determined using the RH rule
