Crispy Baked Turnip Fries

These things are SO tasty!!! You won't want to ruin them with ketchup, they are that good! :)

**A note about turnips...buy them small, do not think you can just use 1 large one instead. The younger the turnip, the milder the taste. Once they start to grow big, they begin to get bitter. Go small! :)

Serves 2

You'll need:

3 small or 2 medium/small turnips

1 Tbsp. Avocado oil (or extra virgin olive oil)

1/2 tsp. fine grain Himalayan pink salt

1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper

1 tsp. smoked paprika

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 C. Finely shredded pecorino romano cheese (my favorite is Locatelli). Sub with grated parmesan or romano if you choose. You want the powdery type of shred.

Preheat oven to 425. Line large flat cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Peel Turnips, then slice into 1/4-1/3 inch thick discs. Cut discs into 1/4-1/3 inch thick "fries". Place turnip fries in bowl, drizzle with Avocado Oil and distribute all over using your fingers.

In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Sprinkle this mixture over the turnips, while tossing gently to coat all over.

Dump fries into center of cookie sheet, spread them out with plenty of space between them. Dab them onto any bits of seasoned cheese mixture.

Bake for 24 minutes total, turning the fries over at the 12 minute mark. Indulge!

**I love to serve these guys up next to a delicious hamburger on a tasty low carb bun! :)
