NOTE: I list what "type" of foods I prefer for health and nutrition, substitute as needed.
1 lb. Grass Fed and/or Organic Ground Beef (90/10 is good)
Kosher Salt
Fresh Ground Pepper
Garlic Powder
Grass Fed and/or organic Swiss Cheese (I like Kerrygold), thin sliced, just enough to cover the top of each patty.
4 Natural Bacon Slices - trim off any large portions of fat
Organic Romaine lettuce, or other favorite greens (spinach, bibb lettuce, etc...)
Thin sliced sweet onion (I like Texas Sweet or Vidalia)
Thin long slices of Avocado (optional)
Buns - lightly toasted at the last minute
****Secret Burger Sauce!!!! - This sauce halfway "makes" the burger... it is a MUST! :)
Directions:
Gently form your beef into 4 patties. Handle them lightly so the beef does not become tough. Indent the centers of each patty with your thumb (makes them not shrink while cooking). Sprinkle both sides of patties generously with garlic powder, kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. Grill to desired degree of doneness. *** Place swiss cheese on top of patties during last 45 seconds of cooking.
Remove patties to a platter, top with cooked bacon, and gently tent with foil, allow to rest for 5-10 mins.
While patties are cooking, cook your bacon to your desired degree of crispiness. I like it crispy! I also clipped off any parts of fat that did not cook crispy (gave to dog). Set bacon aside. Place cooked bacon on the patties once you remove them from the grill.
Lightly toast your buns, spread "Secret Burger Sauce" on both bun portions. Add patty, avocado (if desired), onion and lettuce). Feel it melt in your mouth... SO delicious!!!
