Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients:

1 (15 oz) can organic black beans, drained and rinsed

1 egg

1 C. whole wheat bread crumbs (I chopped up 2 small size burger buns really fine)

1/2 sweet yellow onion, finely chopped

1 tsp. oregano

1 tsp. basil

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

Secret Burger Sauce

Toppings:

Lettuce

Tomato

Onion

Buns :)

Place the beans in a med-large bowl. Squish with hands to break up, this is the fun part! :) Mix in the egg, crumbs, onion, and spices to incorporate really well. Form mixture into 5 to 6 patties.

Heat a skillet with a little bit of oil over med-high heat. Once pan is hot, reduce heat to med. I usually cook 2 at a time; add 2 patties to pan. Brown on both sides for 3-5 minutes each side. Spread buns with Secret Sauce and add desired toppings. Enjoy! :)
